Guest guest
Hi Everyone, First - to - if you see the Pick Your Level workouts at Ross - get them!! The Dozois one is good - a circuit workout with a functional fitness flair! Not super hard, but not super easy, either. I think it could be made more difficult if you went with the higher intensity modification right off the bat rather than waiting for her to lead up to it - can't do it the first time through the workout, but certainly the next time. The Pilates one is good, too - I'm biased about workouts lead by Ellen Barrett though, I like her! Okay - on to my morning. DD has been getting up at ungodly hours. This morning it was 4 a.m., I just CAN'T let her get up that early - so I laid back down with her and she fell asleep until 6:30 (and so did I! I'm going to get a small alarm clock for her bedroom so I can at least get myself up to workout on these days/nights!) Anyway, due to that, I didn't workout until later in the morning - decided to have breakfast, coffee, and do some housecleaning, e-mail, and work first. Plus, I had a phone call from my poor friend with the broken feet/ankles - ugh, she's going to be laid up for another 8 weeks. She actually brok BOTH of her ankles - one was shattered and needed the surgery, the other was just a routine break. All this from falling down one step, tripping on a dog bone and carrying a load of laundry - I always knew that housework was dangerous and now I have proof. I really wish I could take leave from work under the FMLA so I could go up there and drive her kids around - they're in soo many afterschool activities and she has no one to rely on to help with the driving - her husband/friends have been doing some, but she's worried b/c it may be longer than 8 weeks before she can drive again. Anyway - I pulled out Tae Bo Fat Blasting Cardio this morning for a change of pace. This one uses the Bands from the first Bootcamp set. It is a pretty decent workout - it doesn't ahve the energy of the Live classes but it is still a good one and pretty high up there in intensity. I used the bands, but I recall doing this workout without them and just using handweights instead and I recall that worked pretty well. Anyway, after Tae Bo I did 10 Min Solution Fitness Ball Stretch - DD joined me on her little ball. SHe also played with my Bands when I was finished with them. I love her to death, but I'm sure looking forward to having my " sacred " exercise time back sometime soon. We're going away for the weekend, I hope that somehow knocks her sleep patterns back into something reasonable. Becuase she gets up so early she wants to go to bed at 6 p.m., yesterday she fell asleep sitting up on the couch at 6:30! I hate for her to take a nap b/c she is really grouchy when she gets up and then I can't get her to go to sleep at a decent hour. I 'm hoping that today she'll nap in the car on the way to or from pre-school, that may be just enough to get her to stay up a bit later tonight but not so much taht she won't go to bed or has trouble sleeping. I lucked out with her as infant - she slept great - but I'm paying for it now. Although, honestly, I'd rather deal with a 3 year old's sleep issues than an infant's - a 3 year old can be reaonsed with to some extent! LOL! Anyway, I'm running super late for everything now so I gotta get in the shower and get her to preschool and me to my coffee shop (my office away from the office and my home office - her preschool is far enough away that it isn't worth it for me to come home, so I camp out in a coffee shop w/ my laptop and do my work!) Take care! Donna __________________________________________________
