Hi , I'm saving money now for this Spring and Summer to go to camps (hopefully) and my Deaf friend and I are thinking about going to Dollywood for Deaf Awareness Day but we'll see if that works out or not...hasn't been decided yet. I'm not planning on joining Bally's just want to take advantage (I'm so BAD) of their 8-week FREE deal to use their equipment. I would like to join Lifetime Fitness because they are open 24 hrs a day and that would be the best for me with my crazy work schedule but I can't afford it right now. I'm single so I would definately appreciate the beef-cake but I doubt

always felt self-conscious because the women dressed in practically nothing (or so it seemed) and I wore my t-shirt and shorts covering up the flab and the guys seemed primarily beefcake showing off (which was okay of course but a little distracting!). One guy tried picking me up in the pool too ("You know, you've got really great form!" I used to be a competitive swimmer but I'm pretty sure that's not the form he was referring too, just the slightly sleazy way he looked me up and down as he said it)! Flattering perhaps but a little unsettling too, I was wearing my wedding ring too! When I go to exercise, I'm very focused and a meat market doesn't work for me. I was also already married so that might be part of why that atmosphere was so unappealing too! :-) Anyway, that's just my own experience/prejudice. If a Bally's near you is a comfortable place for you and it helps then GO FOR IT!! Also, I've got a gym membership right down the street from me that I rarely

use because I'm finding I prefer working out at my house, not waiting for machines and especially enjoying the peace and quiet of my house with no kids in it (for at least the few hours the little one is gone). You're not bad, they're just hoping there isn't a lot of people out there like you. They get suckers (like me, that's how I got into it a long time ago) to sign up after their 8 week free deal or maybe it was at the time that you go in there to sign up for the freebie that they offer you such a great, how can you possibly turn down this deal, that again, suckers like me sign up for the whole thing. Be strong!!! :-)

24 hour gym! Wow! That would be awesome for your schedule! I hope you can do it sometime!

Now about this negative self-talk... knock it off! A guy will find it harder to find you attractive if you're negative about yourself (it radiates) and some (desirable) guys probably DO find you attractive right now but you don't know it because you're down on yourself. I know, easier said than done. Been there. Still there some days.

I am doing great today! I put a posting on my local freecycle board for exercise videos and equipment and was offered 3 VHS tapes from the Buns of Steel line and drove 25 minutes each way to get them. I'm hoping they're going to be good! One is a step tape, another is for upper body and the other I think is the classic "Buns of Steel" (I had no idea there was anything else but that one until I got these). They're brand new too. The lady's VCR broke before she could use them and she isn't planning to replace it. I'll post the titles later and reviews when I do them. On the way home, I just had to stop at Borders (it really was on the way home)! I found the fitness DVDs and managed not to buy any. I want to check prices against eBay another places before I purchase. I did buy "Body Clutter" though! I've had a $10 Borders gift card for months just waiting for this book! It just became available there (and elsewhere). Borders online has it for only $8.99 and the store was $14.95 but with my gift card I ended up paying just over $5 and didn't have to wait for it to arrive. I've started reading the intro and am very excited about it. This is, I hope, going to be my mental armor against regaining the weight I've lost and maintaining my health! I will post more on the book as I get into it.

And yes, I did work out this morning! I did the entire Kari Go: Step tape and felt awesome! I'm still stumbling over myself during the 2nd workout but am getting better at it. This feels like it is at my level now (was too hard when I first started, I'm glad I put it away for a while) and I'm really excited about my progress.

Gotta go get Miriam off the kindergarten bus and start the 2nd half of my day!
