Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I had quite the variety today. I started with T-Tapp to warm up (there is a very active thread on VF about T-Tapp that got me going, well, I had been adding her Primary Back Stretch to my morning routine for about a week or so as a warm-up, but that particular thread inspired me to do a bit more) - I did the " basic " sequence which, is the Primary Back Stretch through the T-Tapp Twist - it only takes 10-15 minutes. I think I'll try, once again, to do this sequence in place of a traditional warm-up for certain workouts (sometimes, however, I do think you need to do the warm-up for a particular workout to get into teh right frame of mind - but this sequence will definately work as a warm-up for most strength workouts). After T-Tapp I did Tough Cardio Mix - a FIRM workout that is a compilation of aerobic sections from Fat Blaster and Firm Cardio & Firm Strength. What is nice about this compilation is that all the step sequences are in the first half of the workout and all the non-step sequences are in the second half - this reduces the amount of " set up " time you need for each combo. Also, it makes a good way to break it up if you want to do a shorter workout or to use as an add-on. Anyway, this one was good - but not as killer in terms of impact as the workouts of last week. Weights, as usual for the FIRM, are used for some of the cardio routines - but they're light weights. After that, I decided to play with my Kries Hot Body/Cool Mind Level 1 DVD. I think I'm going to really like this one and get aloto f usage out of it! There are several different segments on the DVD so it will be very easy to use this DVD for add-ons. Off the top of my head - there is yoga (vinyasa and " yin " yoga - which I've never done/heard of before!), Pilates, Jazz, Ballet, Tibetan Rite, and " waking energy " sections that include a standing and seated self-massage (I'm not sure what the technical term is for this......) Plus, there is an interview and discussion of the background of the various disciplines. The production quality appears to be excellent, too! And, I personally like 's straight-forward presentation. I know some find her " snobby " but she is fine for me. She seems to be knowledgeable and I like her presenation. Anyway, the section I did today was the seated waking energy - which is 13 minutes long (according to the DVD) and include a seated self-massage/flow - it is hard to describe - some of it reminded me of t'ai chi some of it was sort of reflexology/self massage. I liked it, though. I watched a little bit of the Tibetan section, which is short - maybe 9 minutes as well as the intro for this section. Sounds interesting!! The DVD includes an insert that lists various combos you can put together, either yin or yang (cold, hot) or you can just navigate the chapters menu and pick and choose what you like. The sections seem to stand on their own. She has several what she calls, " on the go " workouts that are 20 minutes or less. I like this! Anyway, I " m glad I picked this one up and I'm glad there will be 2 more in the series (levels 2 & 3). There is another, that is out now, that is not part of the three-part series, but I have that one too and will get around to it at some point. This week I think I'll focus on working through this one. I'd like to try the Yin Yoga (21 minutes) tonight! This one is available at Deep Discount DVD for a good price, under $11. I picked my copy up at Borders - I had a 10% off day and I took advantage of the buy 3 get 1 free deal. I think it worked out to be $13 with that deal. I think the buy 3 get 1 free DVD sale ends today (not meaning to enable or anything! Take care!
