Guest guest
Hi all! This is probably unnecessary at this point, but I have uploaded a Word document to the Files Section regarding the legality of using undenatured alcohol in perfume and then re-selling it. I sent an enquiry to the BATF a long time ago when this subject came up again, as it does every so often, and they finally got back to me. Elise has already done an excellent FAQ document about this topic, which also resides in the Files Section. I just wanted something from them in writing saying definitively what their position is. Please note that you should also check out your particular State's regulations. Anya has provided a great resource in the Files Section which lists contact info for every State's Alcohol Control Board. Here is the link to the file I uploaded: http://tinyurl.com/6muypm Patty
Guest guest
Hi everyone, I believe BATF is Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms therefore I would like to let you know now they are called TTB They are still in the Department of the Treasury. However, they split from ATF 5 years ago and are now called the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). Here's a bit of information I received from them. I hope this helps. I'm still confused but I'm experimenting so I have a long way to go before I start selling but this is my ultimate goal. Tax-paid distilled spirits are (and have been) permitted in the manufacture of perfumes. However, as a result of GATT, a manufacturer of nonbeverage products (MNBP) may be entitled to drawback on the taxes paid on distilled spirits used in the manufacture of perfumes. One has to apply for a tax stamp in order to become an MNBP and to get drawback on any eligible spirits used (27 CFR Part 17 deals with drawback and MNBPs). There is also information on our website, ttt.gov. 3) Perfumer¢s Alcohol is a specific product manufactured by Snowdrift that uses SDA 40-B. They would need an SDA permit, and in most cases, an approved formula to manufacture and sell those alcohols shown on their website. Have a great day everyone !!!!
