I worked out this afternoon (plus a lot of housework, so lots of exercise I guess). Finally used my stability ball and the workout that came with it. It was Gymball Workout (possibly introduction to Gymball Workout) with Lucy Knight. It is in the basement and I'm upstairs so I'm not sure. I got the very detailed book, 31 minute workout DVD and ball at Cotsco for $14.99 so, while I didn't love the workout, it was still a good deal. The workout had a warm-up that at some point became the workout and I wasn't really sure when that happened. I noticed I was working harder than I had been but I don't remember any title on the screen or transition or anything that said "workout" (like there was for other sections, including the warm-up). I don't remember working super hard but then again I was also trying to figure out what I was doing with the ball, follow her and do it in a tiny space so I need to do it again before I actually decide if I like it or not. There was also a toning section and stretch, all using the ball. I didn't feel like I'd gotten a good workout when I got done but later on I realized that I was really tired and I definitely felt like I'd worked my abs so maybe it was better than I thought. I just didn't get my heart rate up much and definitely not for any extended amount of time, though that might also be because I need to learn what I'm doing with the ball, in the space I have.

Other details: Lucy introduces the workout and goes over some safety issues using the ball then the rest of it is all voice over. This is the first workout I've done that was a voice over. I didn't really mind that although it seemed a bit strange at first. There are two exercisers, one that I assume is her though she looked much different in the "live" portion. Both are model thin with absolutely no body fat. At the end she says something about if you keep doing the workout you'll make great progress too. I don't picture myself ever looking like that (and not sure I want to either to be honest) but I'm sure that's not what she meant. For a few moves she talks about alternate ways to make the workout harder or easier and a split screen shows the alternate move. That was helpful.

I'll try this again before I actually register an opinion about it but it was an easy way to start using the ball anyway and I did enjoy using the ball although it was something new to get used to.

35 minutes till midnight. I just got done preparing for tomorrow (I make the family a big New Year's Day breakfast -- this year it is Oven Denver Omelet, Pink Lemonade/Strawberry Slushies, Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins and link sausage) and wanted to get this in before the New Year is officially here.

Happy New Year everyone! I pray it brings health, especially to those of you feeling crummy right now, and many blessings to all of you!!
