sufficient zinc. With deficiency in zinc, one can not produce

enough HCL and the lack of HCL can very often be one of the reasons

for food sensitivities or allergies (a note here - a true allergy is

only to that of a protein). And just adding zinc as a supplement

does not always do the trick. The body needs to be aided in being

able to absorb zinc, a similar thing for an inability in absorbing

calcium. Just taking a supplement or using dairy doesn't always

work. There are co-factors involved in both. --

HCL requires sufficient zinc and thiamin (B1) to be produced. But

the catch is if one is deficient in HCL they are most likely

deficient in zinc, which is required to produce HCL. So what can be

done is to supplement with HCL to get the cycle working. And then to

use an aqueous zinc (1/2 to 1 bottle a day) to stimulate the body's

response to uptake zinc. Extended over consumption of refined carbs

can lead to a thiamin deficiency, along with smoking, alcohol

consumption, chronic diarrhea, and stress. So eating foods rich in

thiamin or supplementing with a B complex would be highly recommended

to help with the HCL and zinc deficiency.

With calcium the cofactors are: digestion - HCL is required for

uptake of calcium and other minerals, Vitamin D, Fatty Acid –

necessary for the transport of calcium across the cell membrane into

the cells. Calcium must be in balance with other macro minerals.

Phosphorous is the opposing acid mineral, and magnesium is important

for the body to appropriately use calcium. Trace minerals are also

important in the utilization of calcium: manganese, boron, copper,

zinc, and potassium.
