-- The thing is with poor digestion most people don't have sufficient zinc.

With deficiency in zinc, one can not produce enough HCL and the lack of HCL can

very often be one of the reasons for food sensitivities or allergies (a note

here - a true allergy is only to that of a protein). And just adding zinc as a

supplement does not always do the trick. The body needs to be aided in being

able to absorb zinc, a similar thing for an inability in absorbing calcium.

Just taking a supplement or using dairy doesn't always work. There are

co-factors involved in both. --

Janice, what would the co-factors be?

So what should I do, if kefir isn't the answer, and

neither is supplementing? And as you also mentioned,

I must heal my gut prior to taking digestive enzymes?

How do I heal?

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo,

Have you had a chance to see my answer to Dedy... Msg 28441 Answer to

Dedy - Cofactors ... Mon 9/8/2003

If not, read that and then I can give you some more info. And I

don't want to imply that kefir may not be good for you. I am in no

way a kefir expert. But if you are experiencing side affects, for

the time being it might be good to back off a bit or even stop for a

while. If what you say you are experiencing dismishes or goes away,

there is one answer.

And most importantly, don't give up hope. :) This is fixable, you

are not broken! All is well and soon you will be too. I know it can

be annoying to hear someone say this, but try and be patient and

trust you are being lead to exactly the right answer. And look at

all you are gaining in the process. So much for the polyanna in me...
