Guest guest
Hi Jen, I hope you don't mind this suggestion - but I've been reading how hard it is for you to get on schedule with exercise. You can ignore me if you don't like the suggestion! I know it is hard with your evening work schedule to fit in a workout in the afternoon or evening. But, maybe you can try to do it in the morning - not necessarily the crack of dawn (realizing that you don't get to bed until later with your work schedule) - but say, within an hour of waking up. I know some people can't get right out of bed and exercise -so how about you get up, and for the first hour you can putter around - read e-mail, eat a light breakfast, hydrate, etc. then after that first hour is up (set a timer!) - get to your workout. Most " success " in sticking with exercise is from people who do it first thing in the day before other things can interrupt you. It doesn't have to be 4 a.m., but say you get up at 9 - make 10 a.m. your workout start time. And, it doesn't have to be every day - set a goal to fit in 3 workouts a week this way - and with your volleyball and bowling, I bet that will do the trick. Or, set a goal to do 5 days a week, with 3 being morning and 2 being " floating " times. Before I had my DD I was an evening exerciser, and the thought of waking up at the crack of dawn was unappealing to say the least - but it also was the only time I KNEW I could get it done so I just basically re-trained myself. Now, I can get out of bed and within 20-30 minutes be exercising. Like I said, you don't ahve to get up at dawn, maybe a half hour earlier than usual to make sure you have enough time - and you don't have to do it every day - and you don't have to exercise as soon as you get out of bed (I notice I'm stiff unless I walk around for awhile). And, you don't even have to exercise for an hour, maybe start with 30 minutes and add in 10 minutes here and there (same for wake up time, adjust it in 10 min. increments if need be). Anyway, just a thought on how you can build up the habit! Take care, I really want to see you succeed in your weight loss goals!!!
