Guest guest
The MP's were very good this evening - listened well and came up with an action plan to investigate thinsg locally. I got my oar in at the end 1:100! 1:100!!! 1:100!!!!! Highlighted Vickys case - saying there are many children in pain who cannot access NHS care Said there has to be acceptance and understanding at a national level of the numbers of children involved 1:100 No special schools or ASD bases in the local LEA (I am out of their area thank god) 1:100 If they were god forbid blind or deaf we would have appropriate schools Highlighted that the increase seen in 10 years cannot be genetics, has to be environmental insult One of the parents asked about MMR we gave me a lead in about the Hg - Annette s is aware of this since she came to my door to meet me and ask if she could help - and then wished she never did knock my door - this was 3 years ago and guess what - she remembered me - some days I wish my hair was just mousy brown or summat instead of red lol I said we have kids in pain who see GI and are told they can't help becauseof politics around gut and MMR. I said the triad of impairemts for having a child with ASD are actually Health Education Social Services and that dealing with these bodies is far more stressful than looking after our kids- its fighting the system that wears us down Anyways, they listened well - and asked the right questions and got their invitations to the conference which I will chase up in a few weeks. I did say that many parents think Cameron might do better by us because he has a special needs kid of his own - Syms said Cameron is famous for ONLY talking Special Ed during education discussions and drives them all potty - good for him I say! Over and out in Dorset Mandi x

Your meeting could not have been more timely given the BBC main headlines this morning despairing the lack of provision for autists. Can't give you thanks enough, Mandi, hope you had a glass of champagne (or perhaps a bottle) to celebrate your accomplishment, you deserve it. Guest guest
Well done Mandi, we all need to be getting the message across to our MP'S. I am meeting with mine again next week. As for Cameron, I'm not so sure, seen him talking about special ed a couple of months ago and he couldn't speak highly enough of provision and all who work in the system, obviously I make allowances for the fact he has never been in my sons school, but all the same I had hoped for more from him.
