Guest guest
Is this little boy on a picture schedule? There's a really good book called, Activity Schedules for Children with Autism; Teaching Independent Behavior, by Lynn E. McClannahan, Ph.D. & J. Krantz, Ph.D. Sometimes if they can see the schedule, with pictures, it helps. About the reading, I think I told everyone I did the same thing with . I would journal, though. It got to where I just had to reach for the journal and he'd say he'd do it. liked the attention that his opposition got him. The only problem you run into is if they are trying to avoid a task that if they hold out long enough, you have to not do. It's a good idea that you're taking him potty as soon as you get there. I think someone else mentioned that the problem with sitting in the bathroom for hours is that he's not getting taught, so in effect he's winning. I think I (and it might be a bit different since I school in my home) would be inclined to take some work in there with him. Something he can do while he's sitting on the potty, and if he wants to stall, have him do it. If he goes right away, he doesn't have time to do the work, so he gets out of it. Of course it would have to be something that is a bit older and not something that he would work on for that day anyway. It has to be a treat to go potty and be able to get out of the work. Guest guest
Okay, trying to be accountable here, so this is my week of exercise. Monday--Taught Pilates--1 hour Tuesday--rest Wednesday--taught warrior poses all day to gym members doing the 12 days of fitness--no formal exercise, but felt the warriors Thursday--Choreographed, Practiced, and then Taught Step Aerobics--2 1/2 hours Friday--Circuit--1 hour Saturday--Taught Stability Ball--1 hour, then Taught Yoga--1 hour Sunday is my normal rest day, but I may go break out a video just to get something in since I didn't do anything Tuesday. I did get the nutrition program for the gym written this week. I'm excited about rolling it out. It is actually what I used when I lost all my weight, so I can't wait to see the results the ladies are going to have on the program. Next week I start subbing the rest of the yoga classes, so the plan for next week teaching is: Monday--Pilates Tuesday--nothing Wednesday--Yoga Thursday--nothing (my step class is being cancelled because of my son's chorus performance that night) Friday--Yoga Saturday--Stability Ball and Yoga Hope ya'll are able to get in more then I've managed this week. Guest guest
You had a great workout week Tonya. Thursday and Saturday were tough days. Teaching warrior poses would be challenging as well. Good luck with the nutrition program you will be using on the ladies. I'm sure they will see great results under your supervision.
