PCT Update - Long

Well as promised I got a call back this morning - though not from the complaints lady because she is sick.

I have been appointed by very own Key worker - a bright lass who works in commissioning team (buying healthcare). They have done this they said because my request has been going on too long and they should be doing better.

They want the proposed meeting next Thursday to go ahead - she gave me names and background of each panel member (I used to go keep fit with the lady GP).

They have requested my paediatrican (who is the clinical director for Paediatrics for the trust) attend for my presentation, and my ole mate Dawson who will be the acting Chief Exc when the current one leaves at the end of the month. They will not be part of the decision making but are requested to see my presentation.

I explained the my paed always says to me - you know better than me what would you like me to do next? and that the reason he didn't present to panel in the first place is because he knew they would ask him questions he didn't know the answer to and if he did, we wouldn't be applying for funding anyways.

I did say that bottling out of a decision on the first application on the basis he knows me was a bit absurd IMHO - is he saying he can't make a professional decision if he knows a person? And will they now be removing the lady doctor because I know her?

She said that even if I took over the resources of books and DVD's that getting them to the members of the panel and gettign them viewed would be difficult but they still wanted them anyways. I said I have waited 6 years I can wait another few weeks why don't we cancel but they still want to go ahead.

They will provide a laptop and projector and I can 'take all the time I need' to present Sam's case in any form I see fit. I explained that whilst I have no problem with presentation, I am aware from my 15 years as a GP practice manager that Dr's don't like to be told they no nowt and for example I will show fecal and UTM results showing Lead and Hg off the page - somebody will ask where did it come from, I have to explain about Thimerosal and then they will shut down if we get into vaccine issues. She took it all on board. Man I have a mountian of stuff to prepare now eh?

Quite honestly I don't give a toss about the money, its the prinicpal but at least I have a captive audience, what I need to do is sell this to them. I did say they would all be receiving an invitation to the conference so that they can be better acquainted with the subject in future, that there are 1:86 kids and I may be the first for their PCT but I sure as hell am not going to be the last. I explained this is happening all over the UK, we have sick kids in droves who are not getting basic care they deserve.

I told her about , the pain, the cost, the heartache, the stress my friend has and is having to go through to get care that NHS fail to provide for her sick child and so many others.

I liked her - she was a good choice and I asked her what wicked thing did she do to deserve getting lumbered with me LOL

She has since emailed and I sent her back the link to TA site as a resource to send panel members in their pack that goes out on Friday - she thanked me VERY much

Phew, this is going to be tough but I have waited a long time for this and that twerp of a CE - you know she wrote the Heardster and asked when Sam INGESTED these metals, bless her - NOT!

Yes, it's beyond cost for me now as well Mandi, I just think this whole situation is morally wrong.

All this runaround, gathering evidence, and yet they don't feel the need to give any evidence when they call our children in for vaccinations or overprescribe antibiotics, if we had known to ask for evidence none of us would be in this position in the first place.

>>Great point Vicky - I will use that. I did say to the girl that asking what treatment might be recommneded as a result of the tests (which is all we are asking for funding for) is like asking what treatment possibilities there would be for a high ESR reading.

Not sure if she understood but the nurses on the list will - the answer is - how long have you got? The list of possibilities is a mile long

Just read this on digest and am thinking of you. You got lucky finally to get a decent human being (and you did great to tease her a bit). No-one could do better in presenting than you, and I can't imagine who could do as well. You're such a fighter, you've medical experience, you're smart and you know tons. The "bad guys" are overdue for their comeuppance from you.

Gee whiz Mandi, you have such a lot on your plate just now. I have so

much admiration for you, and gratitude to you. There would not be a

medal big enough to reflect what you do.

Try not to worry too much about them asking where the metals came from.

Are you worried that they will try to get you to be controversial and

so discredit your appeal? If your emphasis is on the fact that the

metals are there, and you reiterate that as your main concern if they

try digging, I am sure you will get your message across. You really

are a star, good luck chuck.

how about skipping the part on 'where it comes from', just going down

the line that ASD kids have impaired ability to excrete metals and so

they build up in their bodies doing no good. so regardless of the

'causes' the stuff IS HERE and it should not be here full stop.

.... just thinking out loud.

I do think honesty is usually best. The hard thing is what is in your head about

the sources of toxicity ( if its' like my head I just boil up thinking about it)

you

wont put loads of emphasis on this,so it can be answered honestly if

asked, maybe dont spit on them as you tell them ( a tall order I know ) and it

wont be concentrated on, I mean it's not the issue here is it so dont dwell on

it

Mandi and focus on the rest, really rooting for you, you're such a shiner

Don't forget to mention fish if you do get onto sources of exposure:

that won't frighten them. Also can you rule out never having been

exposed to mercury (either of you) from a broken thermometer, or how

do you know your workplace past and present or your home has never

had a thermometer break in it? I'm just suggesting these as it won't

freak out the PCT.

> Very humble opinion here but I think best not to mention vaccines

because

Oh, Mandi,

I think it would be very hard to mention vaccines nonchalently when

you feel so strong about them, and this presentation is to get your

little man the investigations and treatment for his current

condition, not to convert sceptics about dangers of vaccines, so I

agree wholeheartedly, try to avoid any mention of vaccines.

If you are asked if you believe it is the vaccines, and you feel it

is an attempt to divert you into controversy, you could always state

truthfully that it is hard to prove irrefutably where the metals came

from, but that should not detract from the need for treatment. Don't

let anxiety about whether they agree about vaccines kybosh your

chance to get somewhere with treatment. You have done so much for

everyone else, just concentrate on what you want for your son.

Banging the anti-vaccine drum can be for another day. I will keep

fingers crossed for you. Sending warm fuzzies Sue

It's interesting that Shattock doesn't think that thimerosal is

the main cause. It is a fact that all children were injected with

more than the FDA's " safe limit " of mercury.I wonder how much

thimerosal was in each jab prior to about 1988 when all the new

vaccines were introduced. It is difficult not to mention that the

mercury came from the vaccines. Also Mandi said there are now 1:86

in this country - that means we are worse than the States.
