I have found that SO MANY times in my eating habits. If I have a diet coke it automatically triggers a "need" for munchies, like pretzels or crackers and cheese and when I finally realized it was a habit and not a good one I started (a) drinking more water and less diet coke so no trigger and ( forcing myself to grab precut veggies and fat-free dip with my diet coke (if I was going to have to have a munchie, at least it would be healthy). I slip up but most of the time I'm aware of what I'm doing and allow myself to make the choice but make sure I write it down so I know what non plan foods (like pretzels and crackers) I've eaten and how much. I'm making that choice less and less often now and I really feel good about it. I used to do the all day grazing on junk too and just lost track of what had actually gone into my body until I saw it show up in tight clothes! Awareness is the key though and it sounds like your scale experiment is giving you that key, I'm so impressed that it is doing such good things (for you and hopefully others reading about it too). Way to go Donna!!!!! The Whacky Scale - Week 2 Thought I'd report in - I did not binge the way Iusually do on the weekends, so I started this Mondayoff 2.4 lbs lighter than last Monday. I still treatedmyself - I just kept it more in balance. It alsohelped that we didn't have a big meal on Saturdaysince DD was under the weather. PRobalby the biggestdifference was not snacking all day on Sunday -although I had the "munchies" (I'm thinking it is moreof an ingrained habit that I need to break to how Iapproach the end of the weekend) I stuck to healthysnacks and only one or two. I'm happy about that. Hey, if this scale experiment can help me keep up withhealthy eating on the weekends it will be worth it.
