Hi Kris,

I'm probably not the best person to reply - b/c I tend

not to eat before I workout - I workout first thing

int he morning and food tends to make me nauseous if I

workout and then eat. The most I can handle is a

banana or a piece of bread (and even that is iffy). I

have breakfast after I workout and usually that

involves some peanut butter (I love the stuff and

found I don't binge on it if I " allow " myself some as

part of a meal every day). So I guess I get some

protein and fat in there post workout.

I do believe that you should technically have some

carbs before your workout for energy (but I guess it

ultimately depends on how long ago your last meal was

and how you feel) and probably a combo of protein and

carbs post workout to replenish your energy and repair

muscle. I'm certainly not a food expert though!

Donna, of the lousy eating habits!

Yes, protein after to repair muscle and help it grow, and before I work out I have a very light carb bar (100 calories of organic oats and honey) to jumpstart and energy flow.

LOLthanks donna :)I think i'm getting too paranoid about food and not eating enough ..HA! me not eatin enough but thanks for the advice i've heard about carbs an hour before working out so i'll try it. I eat lunch about 4 hours before my workout and dinner after my workout so my dinners have been pretty lame and low cal.Kris.Donna M-P <donna112520@...> wrote: Hi Kris,I'm probably not the best person to reply - b/c I tendnot to eat before I workout - I workout first thingint he morning and food tends to make me nauseous if Iworkout and then eat. Preferences may vary, but I exercise first thing in the morning on an

empty stomach. Some say this is the way to burn bodyfat right away,

not what's in your stomach. So I just start with a glass of water

before my workout.

hi kris -

it is really individual and you will have to experiment with it...

but this is what i do.

i used to always eat something before working out, but i started to

feel sick with food in my stomach while exercising. so, for quite a

while now, ive been working out without eating first and i feel

better. after my workout im normally very hungry though, so i have

to be careful and ensure that i eat my kashi go lean with 1% milk

and an orange at this time. i often sleep in on the weekends, so

instead of the kashi, i will eat lunch after my workout (normally

whole wheat bread or a whole wheat tortilla, turkey, low fat cheese,

lettuce, tomato... with a low cal yogurt, carrots and a v8 -- then i

will have the kashi/milk/fruit for a snack later). the kashi is

high protein/high fibre and with some splenda and cinnamon on it, it

tastes great (imo). i also think that my lunch is high in protein

and fibre.
