I'm no expert, but I don't recommend doing that. I think it would be too hard on your joints. I use 2 lb weight gloves, but only when I'm doing kickbox workouts. You might want to try that, it will really "up" the workout for you.

I - one time only - did a step routine with weights on my ankles and the next day and for several days afterward my knees "creaked" and the noise continued for several days afterward - I never did it again. I agree with . I think doing cardio and step

routines with ankle weights would be too dangerous -

too much chance of straining something - I can also

see knee and ankle injuries happening pretty easily

from doing fast footwork with ankle weights on!

I wouldn't recommend it.

hi melissa!

i would not recommend doing this.... you are going to hurt your

knees and possibly the hips. instead you should increase the

height of your step. for floor aerobics, you can look into a

rebounder or add some impact to the moves (bounces, jumps, jogging)

which will increase your heart rate. or, perhaps it is time to

look into getting some harder workouts if the ones you have now are

not challenging enough for you.
