Personal experience only (me not ds) -- horrendous, debilitating peripheral neuropathy. Stopped as soon as I went off the flagyl but very scary indeed.Maybe I was unlucky.

If you google flagyl, you'll find all this stuff.

Perhaps there is an alternative someone could recommend?

Good luck

What about charcoal for the die off...

Theoretically, also the bad bugs is fighting each other including yeasts,

so when you are fighting Clostridia and Bacteroides with Metronidazol

(Flagyl), you should of course expect / fear a yeast flare up, that

have to be treated all along....

--- Hi ,

I started using metradinazole tonight with my son.DrH.recommended,in

the past my son had this 10 days treatment before. No major issue we

had. After 10 days,I am going to use Biocidin to deal with for his

yeast and the other issues such as parasities..I don't want to start

Nystatin.

I am not comfortable using any drug but ignoring the cause won't help

my son,I believe.

I hope we'll pass this stage safely and wishing you the same!

Warmly

-thank you for all your replies on flagyl/diflucan. I have the stuff

now from my own NHS doctor and will weigh up the pros and cons. Doc

wont give me diflucan, but gave me nystatin instead.

definitely going to get in first with some anti virals first (herbal)

thanks everyone

Anyway, rays of sunshine today. Happy little boy, slept great and for the first time in the history of my family, he allowed his one year old NT brother to touch him, rub his head and sit beside him. Magic moment. They even smiled and interacted for ~ 2 seconds when the baby was playing with a ball. We live for moments like that.

Lovely! Brings tears to my eyes. Long may it continue. Well done, Liam, keep up the good work.

We've been giving him charcoal, but I'm not sure it works very well.

He can't take caps yet, so we have to open it and mix with fluid to

get it into him. I'm not convinced it's still active when it hits

the gut. Most of the activity should be lost in the stomach.
