Hi Emma,

We have just completed 10days of Flagyll with our little boy and this time 2 weeks ago I felt exactly the same as you.

After the first few days he was stimming like mad we then started him on Diflucan for yeast and everything settled down.

Today we have noticed that his language has improved and he seems a lot more alert,he did 2 things today which shocked me and my husband.His game had stopped working and when he asked me to give him batteries I told him daddy would fix it when he got home from work,the minute my hubby walked through the door he said "fix it daddy elmo game" .

This morning he had been sick in the car on the way to school and I asked him to tell daddy what happened in the car ready to prompt him,he then said "sick" and showed him the action,bearing in mind the sickness had happened at 9.30 this morning and it was 7pm when he told his dad.

These things may just be fluke but I really thing Flagyll has had a positive effect.

I understand that you feel anxious but all our kids are different and sometimes when you hear all the negative stuff it puts you off,your child might not suffer any side effects.

Getting rid of these parasites is soo important!

Hi everyone just

thought that I would ask you all if you would be kind

enough to post your experiences with flagyl good and bad. My daughter

Sophie needs to take this as she has both parasites and

clostridia.Muscroft is the practitioner who we consult and I

think that she is great but I have read so many negative things about

flagyl and I am really scared that the gains we have seen with Sophie

in the few months since we started biomed will disappear and I soooo

don't want that to happen. Also we are supposed to start oxypowder and

I have also heard that if you take an antibiotic like flagyl you

should increase your yeast protocol and also increase your probiotics.

Help I am confused can someone more experienced than me please advise

I'm stuck!

Not to put a downer on flagyl, but we finished a course last week

and a week later my son is aggressive, throwing items of furniture,

banging doors and generally " impossible " . He was up all night

talking to himself for two nights. he didnt seem to need sleep!

Hoping this m orning after a good sleep the effects have worn off.

Our boy is a gut kid with huge gut probs so i am hoping all of this

is worth it. Havent seen any gains except that he has excreted some

horrible substances from his rectum! over the last few days.

HI,

sounds like you may have got yeasty-beasties taking over here IMHO.

The flagyl would have got rid of bad bacterial overgrowth and

parasites but this leaves room for nasty yeast to flourish if you

are not careful. Nignt-waking is a common sign of yeast overgrowth.

Do you have any OTC yeast killers you can give him?

Oxypowder just moves things along, it's not a " treatment " . So if you

can cope with runs and vits speeding through, then fine. Painless,

impaction reliever, a god send when you need it.

Flagyl needs help. We've given charcoal, yeast aid, oxypowder and now

OLE. On two occasions Tom was so aggressive he attacked but minutes

later was fine. If is treating your daughter ask her to recommend

a timed treatment protocol to deal with the side affects. I am sure

they are counteractable but don't wait for them to kick in, you need to

know how to pre-empt them and and deal with them.

We have used metronidazole (flagyl) for eddie's clostridia. I also

needed to treat myself (they are right about treating the family - I

had clostridia too).

Flagyl improved us both in great ways - we were very slow to treat

Eddie at first - he was so delicate we had so many other problems -

but when we got the confidence to treat we saw great improvements (he

stopped violently rocking backwards and forwards and graoning when

people came too close in the supermarket or if I stopped the

trolley. He became happier and much more flexible generally and more

affectionate.

Sorry Steph i am going to have to disagree with you on this one. For

our ds Oxypowder was most definitely a treatment, accompanied with

horrendous die-off.

What Oxypowder does is because it is an oxygenated magnesium, the

oxygen in it aeriates (sp?) the bowel and kills off nasties lurking

their that are aneorobic, ie bacteria and yeast that thrive in an

oxygen-free environment and the mag with it draws in moisture and

loosens the stool. So with a big enough dose what you get is the

runs and also die-off of yeast and bacteria if they are present.

So if you get die-off symptoms with oxypowder IMHO you can safely

assume your child has/had some nasties present in their gut. We had

this big time!!!

Also, perversely i feel, we have used Flagyl twice and have only

seen good both time, no die-off, so go figure whats going on there,

it beats me!!! Could it be that yeast is the major problem here,

which the Oxy dealt with but the Flagyl didn't?

Anyway, i hope this is useful info for someone.

Wow, that's really interesting. With us it just literally moves

things along. I wonder if that means yeast isn't an issue for TOm

(but why the panda eyes? OOh the mysteries of biomedical). That's

Is it " clean " MgO - Magnesium Oxide ?

or is it a mix of something ??

part of the jigsaw puzzle for us anyway. I keep wishing that i'm

getting close to finishing off the puzzle but suspect that i'm still

Whilst reading the small print on my oxypowder tub to get the info

for this Q (had to get my NEW reading glasses out for this - oh

discovered something very interesting relating to our use of this
