Guest guest
Hey , if you were really here, you'd be wearing a sweatshirt in my basement with me for the first 5 or 10 minutes of most workouts because it is so darn cold! I'm going to be glad to go down there during the summer but I really don't look forward to it right now (especially because it is 2 degrees above zero right now and we're expecting wind chills of about -20 tomorrow). I really appreciate your kind words though! I enjoy writing especially for my own self-discovery/accountability and it is also nice to hear others enjoy them too! I'd love to hear what you think of the Target Toning too. I didn't feel it the next day this time, which I'm thinking means I didn't end up doing enough reps because I was, in some cases, trying to figure out exactly how to set myself up and then missed some of the reps and didn't want to take the time to go back and watch it again/do more. I was also switching back and forth between 3 & 5 lb. weights during the arms trying to figure out which I needed to use and that also made me miss reps. Need to try it again on a day when I'm not feeling rushed for time so I can listen and study how she sets everything up and take my time with it. She gives excellent tips on form so that helps. Pics... sometime soon... don't know when but I'm kind of curious myself. Last time I had a picture taken in workout clothes I weighed at least 20 pounds more than I do now so it should be interesting to see! :-) / Workout #4! , I just love your posts; I feel I'm in the living room working out with you. You're inspiring me to try my copy of the 10 Min Solutions Target Toning workout! And I can't WAIT to see your pics!Hugs,
Guest guest
Yep I'm dumb enough to have the weather channel live on my computer. When it is minimized there's a little box that shows the current temp. Right now there's just a 1 (with a degree mark) there... been watching it go down all evening. AND we're expecting a possible 4-7 inches of snow where I am (Jen, who is also in Michigan, is farther east and might get 1-3 inches). I didn't know it could snow when it was this cold (it never seemed like it did when I was a kid, we always said at least it won't snow, guess again this time). I keep the sweatshirt on for a lot of toning workouts but at some point I actually do get too warm on some of them. Basement is good for cardio but WW tells you if you're sweating in so many minutes you're working at this intensity level or that (as one measurement of intensity) and I just laugh every time I see that! I'm working REALLY hard to break any kind of sweat these days!! So you think I just wasn't using heavy enough weights then? I don't have any 8s yet. Will try it again with the 5s and pay more attention to what I'm doing. Carolyn has had some good reminders about being mindful and watching form during exercises and I'm wondering if that isn't part of my problem too? If that doesn't help I'll definitely go up to 8s. Will look forward to the review whenever you get around to it. Keep dancing twinkle toes, I'm enjoying those reviews too! :-) / Workout #4! , a before and after photo of you would be awesome! Here I think it's freezing here in the 30's and 40's but man after I hear about you and and the others near the zero mark I've decided to keep my cold comments to myself! Your basement is perfect for cardio! For Target Toning I'd keep the sweatshirt on, and also go up in weights if you weren't sore from the 3 and 5 pounders. I'd try 5 and 8 pounders next time..When I do Target Toning I'll review it in detail and let you and eveyrone know what I think, but so far I've liked all the 10 Minute Solutions! I want to continue with dance workouts next week, so we'll see what happens!Hugs,
