In Turbo Kick/Jam there is a lot of high impact if you so chose, but most choose to do it - hey, if your feet and knees can handle it, it's LOTS of fun! All that jarring on the feet can cause shock to the joints. I'm talking about jumping jacks, hopping, hitch kicks and just the general non cushioned pounding. When I took martial arts (Hapkido) we did it barefoot, but we were on a super cushy mat in a wrestling room and didn't do the continual high impact moves that you do in aerobic kickboxing.I've had to tell a couple of students to put their shoes on - our gym forbids letting them do kickboxing without sneakers. Moreover, you should use crosstrainers and not running shoes.Your Mama Hen Aerobics Instructor
