Guest guest
Lol , I'm a gut expert with , but ashamed to admit as ever on the backburner being so much higher functioning in all areas. I'm assuming probably wrongly that as his issues are the oppoite of ie Constipation rather than runny, that his gut issue is not the same as s therefore something I probably know very little about. like your Tim has never had bad breath, the only thing he hasn't had mind you! Sara, we are just finding out that he has been getting picked on rather more than he has been saying, you know the kind of thing, kids going "yeuch" if he is anywhere near them, or screeching don't touch me if he happens to do so accidentally, handing him things with an exaggerated 2 fingers. Terrible to say that I am now having murderous thoughts towards a bunch of 11yr olds. He has only told us this because he now believes he does indeed stink and wanted to ask if we can smell him. Guest guest
My 11 yr old is being really picked on because of his bad breath, everyone in school telling him he stinks, and pretending to be vomiting when near him. I know kids can be so very cruel, but he is terribly upset about it. He does have bad breath, and we have been using Oxypowder, but he doesen't seem to be getting any more good clear outs, can we up the dose? He is also on CP1, is there anything else I can try? has always had bad guts but never bad breath, has never had the bad gut like , but does tend to constipation and loves anything sweet. Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA Vicky
Guest guest
Thanks Natasa, no the fact that his teeth are so good, is what leads me to believe it's in his gut, he has an Aspie type obsession with teeth brushing. Judging by his complaints after passing a BM I think there may be some kind of impacting thats why I thought the Oxypowder would be really good for him, and it was, but seems to have stopped working. Have spoken to school and waiting to see what they intend doing, the usual response is they will have a word with the children, normally that involves them telling me is somehow involved in what is going on so don't how they will manage to put any blame his way for this one. Thanks Vicky
Guest guest
Poor little thing. I don’t know about the breath but I do know that telling teachers helps. (I’m a teacher) Bullying isn’t tolerated these days and teachers know how to talk to the bullies to put a stop to it. (if it continues after a talk/ warning, the kids should be spoken to in front of their parents). Teachers are busy people so may not notice that the teasing is going on. If they don’t know how to deal with it, they’re a pretty crap school. Thanks for the offer of , penpal would be better as 's dyslexia would be a problem for a webchat, bless. Anita it's a shame there aren't more teachers really looking out for bullying which very often is more psychological than physical. Guest guest
That is horrible, are you going to go to the head about it? Poor kid. Bad breath does sound like bacteria. Could be higher up in the gut than what some other kids have (ie if colon has loads of pathogenic bacteria that probably would not be reflected in the breath, would it, in the same way as if they colonise somewhere higher up in the GI tract). does he have any dental problems, or gum problems, that you know of? bacteria and viruses can colonise the mouth sometimes without any clear signs and symptoms. in any case some broad-spectrum natural antimicrobials might be of some help, like manuka honey, mastic gum etc... (maybe things like propolis toothpaste etc could be of help too, or the special ones with manuka) if he tolerates casein in small amounts maybe SCD yogurt would be worth trying, or even the diet itself (excellent for dealing with bacteria) Natasa > > Lol , I'm a gut expert with , but ashamed to admit as ever > on the backburner being so much higher functioning in all areas. > I'm assuming probably wrongly that as his issues are the oppoite of ie > Constipation rather than runny, that his gut issue is not the same as s > therefore something I probably know very little about. > like your Tim has never had bad breath, the only thing he hasn't had > mind you! > Sara, we are just finding out that he has been getting picked on rather more > than he has been saying, you know the kind of thing, kids going " yeuch " if > he is anywhere near them, or screeching don't touch me if he happens to do so > accidentally, handing him things with an exaggerated 2 fingers. > Terrible to say that I am now having murderous thoughts towards a bunch of > 11yr olds. > He has only told us this because he now believes he does indeed stink and > wanted to ask if we can smell him. > Vicky >

I confess I started writing stuff earlier about Spawns of Satan but took it out as I didn't think it was very PC!! However, it sounds like they are being extraordinarily vile and I'm sure I would be fantasising about wringing some scrawny little necks. Poor . He's had such a rough ride through school. Give him a massive hug from me and have one for yourself while you're at it. You know if he fancied a pen pal, or a web chat maybe, I'll bet my would be up for it, let me know and I'll ask him. Guest guest
Vicky, A former student of mine had simply awful breath. His parents were going to try a laser surgery on his tonsils as a last resort. He moved before they had it done, so I didn't learn the outcome. I'm not suggesting the surgery, but perhaps the problem isn't starting in the gut but has to do with this particular bacteria that apparently resides in that whole tonsil area (although removing the tonsils apparently doesn't help with it). Perhaps you could target that area somehow with some of the natural antibacterials? Sorry to hear about what your boy is going through. When I was teaching I was an absolute zealot about stopping the bullies. They can be beasts. Murderous thoughts are perfectly normal. Take care, Anita > > My 11 yr old is being really picked on because of his bad breath, > everyone in school telling him he stinks, and pretending to be vomiting > when near him. > I know kids can be so very cruel, but he is terribly upset about it. > He does have bad breath, and we have been using Oxypowder, but he > doesen't seem to be getting any more good clear outs, can we up the > dose? > He is also on CP1, is there anything else I can try? > has always had bad guts but never bad breath, has never > had the bad gut like , but does tend to constipation and loves > anything sweet. > Any suggestions would be appreciated. > TIA > Vicky >
Guest guest
When there is a bad compaction you might need to add something in with the oxypowder to really have a good clear out. Advised by we added Senna drops along with 7 oxy capsules, the senna I have bought over the internet from Neal's Yard they are about £5.00 I think as it was a while ago when I bought some (you only need a tiny bit and it lasts ages) trust me they really add an extra bite to the oxypowder so if you do use them make sure you are not going anywhere the next day!!! x > Message Received: Nov 13 2006, 07:41 PM> From: Mum231ASD@...> Autism Treatment > Cc: > Subject: Re: Re:Help, Bad Breath/Bullying> > > In a message dated 13/11/2006 16:28:02 GMT Standard Time, MaddiganVaol writes: Judging by his complaints after passing a BM I think there may be some kind of impacting thats why I thought the Oxypowder would be really good for him, and it was, but seems to have stopped working. >>>Have you tried increasing the dose? OK, I will talk to tomorrow. I think he'll be up for it, though he may not be the worlds greatest correspondant on paper, lol, still we give it a try! Still not decided about Feb as we don't have a moving date yet and school appeals and reviews are dominating my thoughts, but when things are clearer, I'll decide for sure. I'll proably be in need of a complete change of scene by then! > Anita it's a shame there aren't more teachers really looking out for > bullying which very often is more psychological than physical. > Vicky Too true. We are going through a bad patch with Hannah. Not quite bullying but I am stunned at how sneaky some seven year old girls can be. It feels nastier in many respects than anything I've been through with my boys as it's so underhand. The chief culprit at the mo has the butter-wouldn't-melt innocent look off to a tee and it feels like we are the only parents in the world capable of seeing that there can be two sides to a story and that the one in floods of oscar winning tears isn't necessarily the one who's been wronged. I'm actually really pleased that we are moving and giving her a fresh start but anxious that this sort of thing goes on everywhere and hoping to help her ensure she's not the victim of it in her next school. Off to look up some anti-bullying websites now as I'm feeling so upset over a conversation I had with her tonight about it all. Your murderously :-(
