Guest guest
I've been getting a LOT of emails with the SoBig virus attached. So much so that it fouled me up with my service provider, and I talked to him about the virus some. Here is the deal: you can be infected with this virus and not know it. It scans your email, and attaches a random name to the " From " space, and sends mail to a random name, both names being from your email list. It mails in the background, so you have no way of knowing you are sending these emails. Now since I'm getting a lot of these, they are probably from people I write to (i.e. my email is on their list) so I'm just giving everyone I write to a heads up. If you have Norton Antivirus, you might want to do a full scan, or make sure it is scanning your outgoing mail. One person we scanned that I know for sure had it. Chances are, if you don't do a system scan and keep your virus defs up to date, you have it. This really, really is not a hoax. It's not a virus that will eat up your disk or anything, but it is darn annoying.
