They finally legalized microradio (radio that broadcasts under a certain distance) but iirc they only legalized it for non-profits, and I think they were thinking of rolling it back too. One more point of how it is government regulation that supports big business, rather than opposing it. The solution to the media monopoly? Abolish the FCC!
