That's interesting Jo, tested very high for silver and tin, mercury didn't show.

Is tin part of an amalgam filling?

I spent most of the pregnancy in the dentists chair, and have a mouth full of metal.

Discussing this with my mother and she was saying in her youth dentists just whipped the teeth out if there were problems, but modern dentistry means saving even the worst teeth imaginable, obviously ties in yet again with the increases in autism.

From my Dentists site

Dental amalgam is a mix of 50% mercury and 50% powdered alloy containing mainly silver with copper, zinc and tin in varying proportions.

Good luck Jo. We are both looking into having almalgam fillings removed. It is going to cost me a fortune because I have about 10 !

Amalgam Fillings - Jo goes to see the dentist.

Hi All.Well after seeing Body Hayleys smoking tooth video I have finally got around to seeing about getting my amalgams out.I saw a dentist in Manchester who was fab and also a homeopathic dentist.Taught me a few things or two.Amalgams are that..A mixture of metals..Mercury is one but also in the mix are other metals - copper/silver etc.Copper ? blimey thats thrown a spanner into the mix.Tested my amalgams for electrical circuits and 2 were very high and producing electrical circuits and are coming out 1st Nov.Never before have I looked forward to going to the dentist. He had some other gadget for testing my immune system - that vega machine.Well my immune is not brill and he isnt taking them out until it is.Then he did some other test to say selenium and vit c would sort me out and get me back to where I should be.Also added in something to see what makes my immune system worse.Well sugar was the worst, followed by alchohol, amalgams , mercury and gold.He said based on this if he took them all out I would end up worsecos my immune system wouldnt handle it as it stands.Interesting..Then I find out that teeth are on meridian lines and affect the whole body. And different teeth affect different organs etc.Getting very deep now..Anyway he gave me this book to readhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Whole-Body-Dentistry-Discover-Missing/dp/0967844304/sr=1-1/qid=1160758560/ref=sr_1_1/202-7325038-3671834?ie=UTF8 & s=booksI will report back after they have been removed to see if the removal of electric teeth makes any difference !Joanne

Hi Jo,

Well I look forward to hearing about how you go on. I had an appt with

the only mercury free dentist I could find, but it was in

Huddersfield. Anyway, month before my appt I found out I was expecting

Shona. The same thing happened before I had Corey. Once I finish

breastfeeding I am definitely having the amalgams out. This guy sounds

as if he takes the proper precautions. How did you find out about him?

Good luck

Sue

I long to get mine out. I also have at least 10 - probably more - and I hate them. However, we are seeing in Huddersfield (holistic + mercury free) for the boys orthodontics which is just finishing me off financially.

It is horribly expensive but I am sure it's the right thing to do as they both have badly malaligned teeth and I really want to get them sorted sooner rather than later and by someone who takes the whole person into account and I trust not to do anything awful!!!

Saying that, I almost cried when she gave me the bill for their braces yesterday, though she says it does get cheaper after the initial making and fitting of the things! It's a nightmare doing the pair of them at once and I am just praying my daughters adult teeth come through OK, she was my most successfully breastfed which I am sure is a factor so here's hoping!

One of these days I'll get around to mine.

Are braces in the same category as fillings? yikes and double yikes if they are... my daughter has just got a brace after years and years of asking for one and then finally finding an orthodontist who would actually consider it.

I don't think braces are made using mercury. ALmost certain they

don't but I'm sure someone else knows definitively
