Guest guest
Hi Helen, I saw that Alannah’s birthday is still up, I need to take that down. She passed last summer due to poor care where she was being kept ( I thought they were getting everything they needed and was told as much but was too sick to go out to the farm to double check. We lost a total of four goats two babies, our sweet Alannah and a rescue we called “Mama goat”. The rest of my gang are doing well and have recovered from their poor care. Shane turned six years old yesterday…. Not bad for a guy they said would never live past three months! Noah survived and will turn six in April and while he had such a horrible start with being so abused before we took him in he is SUCH a sweet and loving little guy now. One of Alannah’s babies (she had twins sept. of 2006) survived her named in Cori and she looks *so* much like her mama…. Acts like her too. That was hard when we first lost our sweet girl but now it’s comforting. Cori’s twin, Faith, passed away just days after her mom did… she just gave up. *That* was hard. I still have the lambs… well they are sheep now lol and will be four years old on March 4th. Hard to believe the tiny little preemies that were so sick for so long are now so big and healthy! There are two new ones, Zoe was a triplet and the runt so we took her in and bottle raised her. She came from a “meat farm” and the same farm that was keeping my stock. Later I found out the “farmer” was going to get rid of one of the other trips I called “trouble” and I told him I’d take her off his hands so I have them. They aren’t as close as they would have been if Zoe had been able to be raised with her but they do seem to know they are family and stick pretty close to each other. Unfortunately miss Trouble never knew people could be good and while she was only just over a year when I took her the damage has been done and she is terrified of people. I’ve had her eight months now and still can’t even get close enough to touch her. I know she’ll come around at some point just like Noah did. Been a lot of ups and downs since getting my gang back and eight full months of trying to keep as many of them alive as possible but things are finally looking up and the ones that have made it this far are doing well and getting stronger by the day. I’ll upload new pictures of them to my picture folder soon. Jessi
