Just wondering for those who are " doing " Yasko or considering it, what

thoughts/feelings are about the GF/CF issue are?

We struggled with the diet for a couple of years before trying Houston

enzymes with success. However because of the glutamate issue Dr Yasko

seems to be suggesting taking them out again (ARGHHH!)

Are we talking strict avoidance or limiting to small amounts (in which

case what is a samll amount?)

Would be interested in anyone's opinions/knowledge

Dr Yasko says that gluten and milk contain amounts of glutamate and therefore should be withdrawn/limited (not sure which, hence my question). She focuses her attention more on the additivesand supps but my question really is whether I should be withdrawing them again - not for the opiate reason but for the glutamate content? Is the amount of glutamate in bread/milk a real problem or is it only when eaten in excess and/or combined with additives/supps?I guess it's one of those questions of how much is too much? I just wondered how others had interpreted it and if any one else had any other info to share?

>>I think you have to do whats right for your child. I will not be withdrawing milk and gluten unlesss I really really really have to. Sam got better when he had G & C plus enzymes, first ever wow, I'd rather remove every single scrap of anything else including my own brain before we do that again

Thats our situation, not watched the DVD's yet

Jacqui,

By taking " them " out do you mean the enzymes or the gluten and

casein?

I'm sorry - being my usual " clear as mud " self again!

Dr Yasko says that gluten and milk contain amounts of glutamate and

therefore should be withdrawn/limited (not sure which, hence my

question). She focuses her attention more on the additives

and supps but my question really is whether I should be withdrawing

them again - not for the opiate reason but for the glutamate

content? Is the amount of glutamate in bread/milk a real problem or

is it only when eaten in excess and/or combined with additives/supps?

I guess it's one of those questions of how much is too much? I just

wondered how others had interpreted it and if any one else had any
