Guest guest
Hi : First off thanks for all the great info on WW. (Thanks to and Carolyn too for giving their opinions of the program) >>> wrote: I just noticed I must have mistyped my first name when I wrote that first note! How funny! Anyway, it's just " " without an " e " !<<< HAHA....no that was probably me making a typo when I replied. I a not the greatest on the keyboard and as a result my spelling usually suffers. I proof my messages but I always seem to miss something. >>> if you want to really change your attitude towards eating and food and make positive habit changes for a lifetime then yes.<< I think that is what I need. >>>Excellent question! I have found that for me, just reading the materials does NOT work. I tried that when I first joined and I did not stick with the program. I had no one to ask questions, no one to give me advice when I got stuck and no one to look to as role models and not a lot of support for my efforts<<< That is good to know. >>>Check out www.weightwatchers.com and look into the WW online option if you're interested in that.<<< We have our own WW website here in Canada " www.weightwatchers.ca " . It is pretty much the same as the U.S one though. I don't really enjoy doing stuff on the computer. I would likely check out the website and what it has to offer but I don't think the on-line option would be for me. There are meetings offered right near here. Likely even within walking distance from my house. One Tues eve, one Wed Am and one Sat Am. There is only one meeting location though so no opportunity to shop around and find a leader/meeting that " fits " . >>> The other plan is called " core " and you choose from a HUGE range of very healthy, very low-fat foods. You learn (with the program materials and from your leader and other members if you attend meetings) to recognize different levels of hunger and to eat to the point of satisfaction but not stuffing yourself. You can eat as much of the core foods as you need to be satisfied (and can eat non-core but count points for it, you have a weekly allowance for those). Some people find that scary, afraid they will be out of control, but the core foods are very dense and satisfying so as long as you pay attention to your body you are fine. (Stop, rest and assess is the key... While you're eating stop, take a rest and assess whether or not you're satisfied then eat more if you need to or just stop.) I have done both plans, recently switched to core, and both are easy to follow if you are committed to your own success.<<< Hmmmm....I think I agree with Carolyn and I would find counting points would get old fast. Perhaps the Core plan would be better for me. Nice to know you can switch if one isn't working for you. It is $160 to join for 10 weeks so not a huge investment if it doesn't work for me for some reason. Re: Journal Was thinking of investing in an exercise/food journal to help keep me on track. Does WW have one?? Just wondering cause I wouldn't want to buy one then find a perfectly good one comes with my WW memebership. Thanks again for the info!
