Guest guest
Hi, My advise is simply do not get all hung up in the numbers. Consider that cholesterol is somewhat of a myth, very theoretical, & designed to profit pharmacuetical companies. The notion that cholesterol is only limited to animal products could be false as well. Why I would not be surprised to learn that such things a avocados were found to contain cholesterol counts. It says cholesterol: 158, triglycerides: 78, HDL: 41 and LDL: 101. Shouldn't the LDL and HDL add up to the total cholesterol number? If not, what's going on here? Thanks! Guest guest
I'm not hung up in the numbers, or worried that they're too high or too low. I just want to know why they don't add up. Can anyone give me a real answer?

Can anyone give me a real answer? Well they're pretty wonderful from a conventional perspective anyway so definitely no need to worry. Anyway, to answer your question: HDL and LDL are the main lipoproteins, but not the only ones. So no, they shouldn't add up. Chris
Guest guest
, " Total cholesterol " = HDL + LDL + 1/5 of triglycerides. Just discovered this formula in a news article today which explains your missing numbers. Hope >It says cholesterol: 158, triglycerides: 78, HDL: > 41 and LDL: 101.
