Guest guest
, There's nothing wrong with being obsessed with workout videos. It seems like the healthiest obsession someone could have. Just accept your loves and interests and enjoy! enjoy! enjoy! I'm single too - Regards, RickiPink Pussycat <pinkpussycat@...> wrote: Ug! The virgin workout dilemma! On the one hand I'm obsessed with getting new workout videos, as each is a unique fitness experience and I want to nab them at Ross as I see them. I mean, what if it isn't there next week? Besides, I need this one to complete my collection of the series! It's also nice to have a plethora of workouts from which to choose. The variety is way better than what is available at most gyms, and I can usually find a workout to fit my specific, peculiar needs for that day.Going through the binders and organizing them is actually a lot of fun. There's a tactile joy in lifting the floppy disc-laden pages and looking at the artwork on the plastic circles. The downfall of all this for me is not even a $ issue, as I think money spent on health and fitness and good, organic whole foods is money well spent. I'm lucky that I'm single and don't have anyone to report to $ wise. (Jen, are you and I the only single people on this board??)However, sometimes I feel REALLY guilty that I have a lot of workouts I've never done. I am sometimes concerned that I will never get to them all. I also think that when you do the same workout say 8 times a month that you can perfect your ability at it, go up in weights and intensity, and maybe get better results. For example, I thought I would be doing more Jari Love workouts and I want to, but Duncan Wong, Budokon, Goudeau and Trainer's Edge also hold appeal! I admire the Beach Body diehards that actually DO the programs as instructed but dang it if I had to do only P90X for 3 months I'd go insane (especially because Tony bugs me, but I notice as I acquire P90 stuff that he's much more mellow in his older workouts than in P90X).Anyway, I am not trying to be hard on myself here or make a decision of any kind. I know myself well enough that I thrive on and crave variety - that's in part why I haven't been at the gym lately. I will say that those workouts are typically harder than most videos (but certainly not all) but they can be so..... predictable. Since Donna, Carolyn and I have all brought up the virgin workout topic today I thought I'd expand on it. As Kassia said, we're all Vidiots and that's fine by me!, who probably needs a workout video 12 step program __________________________________________________
Guest guest
HI , I definately understand the dilemma! I've purchased many a workout at Ross under the fear that it won't be there when I go back!! I don't feel *too* guilty about the money I spend b/c I do use the workouts and they do help me to stay motivated and interested in my workouts which greatly helps both my physical and mental health. I do want to try to reduce my impulse buys b/c this way I won't feel bad when I higher priced item that I want comes around (sort of the way I feel about the rebounder and bosu!). I have easily " spent " the price of both of these items on impulse purchases this year. NOt a bad thing, b/c I do use my workouts and all...although most don't get as much use as they would in a smaller collection. Funny thing is, when I was going through them last night looking for trades - there aren't many I'm willing to part with b/c some just fit a particular need for a day - that day may only come once a year, but I hang on to the workout for that one day. I guess it is no stranger than people collecting stamps or something!! Anyway, we're all in this together!! Donna --- Pink Pussycat <pinkpussycat@...> wrote: > Ug! LOLOL i guess i just have a short attention span, or something. :*carolyn.

(out of, oh, 150 or so) LOL! i also have alot of vhs tapes, but it isnt feasible for me to trade them because, not only is the postage high for tapes now, im trying not to acquire any more vhs tapes at all! my only hope is to hang onto all of them until i get a way to copy them to dvd... then give them to goodwill. i would give them away to fitness friends on the internet but i would have to get postage costs covered and noone would want to pay that, im sure (i find it expensive to mail tapes from here now) and not too many other people want vhs tapes anyway. ::sigh:: :*carolyn. Guest guest
, I LOVE organizing my workouts. I bought me an organizer and that's where I keep all my workouts (thanks to Carolyn and Donna for recommending) . It's so much easier to deal with. I keep the cases up in the closet. I have many workouts too that I haven't done in forever, but I hate to get rid of them because I'm afraid I might want to do one of them lol I have heard that doing the same workout over and over is a good idea so you can perfect it and it can give you nice results. I get bored very easily so I think that's why I haven't done this too often. I do remember doing Kathy Great Buns and Thighs Step. This was back when I wasn't as fit and this one was a hard one for me, but I loved the music!! I did this workout every other day for 3 weeks and I mastered it. My HR dropped and I got through it easily, even added another riser to my stel. I have some Cathe workouts that I can get through, but I work getting through them. Those would be good ones to repeat until they are mastered, but the boredom sets in for me and I loose motivation. I think you just have to do what is the most fun for YOU. My workouts get stale to me every now and then. It's like no matter what workout I pick I think "ugh" lol As far as Tony from the P90... I bought one of his workouts and that was it for me.. too weird lol ~**~ (who probably needs to join in on the 12 step program lol)
