Guest guest
Hi Larry! DEC stands for Dept Enviromental Conservation, they are in charge up here, sometimes interfering, sometimes doing a bit of good, Feeding the deer is good, but they forbid it,however the farmers leave some corn for them to eat as we get very harsh winters. Using corn for bait for hunters gets one a heavy fine though!, the wolf dog sounds beautiful, that he killed an injured or sick deer is not a bad thing, in winter the deer would die anyway by starvation ..In this state they shot all the mixes, people were breeding dogs to wolf stock and there was a lot of problems, and passed a law that wolf dogs were not allowed. I remember one lovely dog, he was pure white, part Arctic wolf- don't know what happened to him, it was several years back.. I expect the bears went home to the mountains, we had a heavy snow fall today, about a foot so far and it is continuing through tomorrow, all denned up and warm MY dogs ran out before fast, you should have seen them ,if they went out fast they came in a lot faster!!!! Our main problems are the lakes, they are not frozen yet and lake effect snow is very heavy, there are places upstate near Pulaski , six feet overnight is common, the streets are snow mobile paths, once the lakes are frozen there is no more lake effect Keep warm and safe, spring will come back, always does, without winter we could not have spring An ne See AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter.
