Guest guest
I must have been replying to an old email yesterday, sorry! Sounds like you're doing great Jen! Losing and then maintaining even during the holidays is awesome! I'm off to weigh-in soon and am not expecting such spectacular results but we'll see. Guest guest
I'm replying to my own post because I just got back from Weight Watchers and am actually down 1.4 pounds! I'm not sure how that happened. Maybe 7 days in a row of good, fun exercise plus I switched to WW "core" plan and maybe I was eating less than I thought I was despite a lot of sweets too (there's no counting on core and I'm not used to that). Will be being paying closer attention this week since there aren't any parties planned (so I'm more in control of the menu). I really don't want to lose more, this brought me down to 107.2 which is my lowest ever in my life and it is as low as I want to go. When your WW leader is worried that you're losing too much weight, you're losing too much weight (and I think so too) so this week I'm definitely watching things in an effort to stabilize and if I gain a pound that would be okay too (I think). Still working out though, not yet today but later I will. I'm finally enjoying it a lot!! Will just add some food to make up for the exercise... what a bizarre concept (for me anyway)!!! Guest guest
WOW, you are doing AWESOME , I'm so proud of you! I gained from last week but I'm not putting it down as a gain because last year is over with (thank God) it wasn't a very good year for me except for my cruise to Alaska Last year I joined a singles hiking club on the internet but only went on one hike with them (they didn't impress me very much.) They are doing more now besides hiking....last Saturday they organized a bowling outing so I did that and had a pretty good time. One woman there () wants to a buddy to exercise with so I told her I would. She wants to start lifting weights (esp for lower body) so I thought that would be nice to have someone to work out with. Problem is we don't belong to a gym. We looked into Planet Fitness in Northville but didn't care too much for it. She called Livonia Rec. Center but they wanted $14 for non-resident day passes...which is too much to spend! So, I emailed her about Discovery's National Body Challenge that gives out an 8 week trial membership to Ballys...I'm waiting to see if she wants to do that...I think that's the best way to go. Let me know if you want to give it a try and I email their web addy so you can sign up. Take care online exercise buddy! Guest guest
Hi Jen! Thanks so much!! This is really weird worrying about not losing more weight instead of gaining but I'll take it! Glad to hear you're putting last year behind you and starting on this year! Any trips planned? Cruise to Alaska sounds hard to top, wow! That's great that you've, hopefully, found an in-person workout buddy! Let me know how it goes! While I could use a good challenge, I don't need it at Bally's thanks! I used to belong there (twice I think). I worked out at the one in Novi with a friend. I always felt self-conscious because the women dressed in practically nothing (or so it seemed) and I wore my t-shirt and shorts covering up the flab and the guys seemed primarily beefcake showing off (which was okay of course but a little distracting!). One guy tried picking me up in the pool too ("You know, you've got really great form!" I used to be a competitive swimmer but I'm pretty sure that's not the form he was referring too, just the slightly sleazy way he looked me up and down as he said it)! Flattering perhaps but a little unsettling too, I was wearing my wedding ring too! When I go to exercise, I'm very focused and a meat market doesn't work for me. I was also already married so that might be part of why that atmosphere was so unappealing too! :-) Anyway, that's just my own experience/prejudice. If a Bally's near you is a comfortable place for you and it helps then GO FOR IT!! Also, I've got a gym membership right down the street from me that I rarely use because I'm finding I prefer working out at my house, not waiting for machines and especially enjoying the peace and quiet of my house with no kids in it (for at least the few hours the little one is gone). Good luck finding a good place for you and to work out!
