Guest guest
Hi , I totally comprehend about your dad. Mines been gone for ten years now and Christmas was his favorite time of year. We still buy him a gift altho it's not exactly what we would want to give but we involve the kids in picking out a grave blanket. It has to have pink it in because that was his favorite color. His birthday is in March and we buy helium ballons that say Happy Birthday then we stand in the yard and let them go as we sing happy birthday to him. The boys say when they can't see the ballon any more that Pa has grabbed it. KathySee AOL's top rated recipes and easy ways to stay in shape for winter. We had maybe 3" from yesterday & cold temps. That's ok though, it's December! I'm doing pretty good health wise. Unfortunately though for the past week I've been dealing with laryngitis. Don't know if it's allergy related or something else; I'll be talking to my allergist tomorrow (Monday) when I go get my shot. Mentally I'm not doing so good. My dad's been gone almost 3 months now & reality has set in that I will no longer be Christmas/birthday shopping for him. I'm lucky though that I have a really good friend at church that is supporting me through prayers, hugs, etc. You all take care & stay warm if you're cold, and cool if you're hot! P. Guest guest
I know how you must feel dear, it takes time to get on terms that someone you loved dearly will never again be around. I know from fact as I lost my 26 year old son on December 21st of 1972 he was my first born son and in the USN. It took six months after to stop crying all the time and I really was a mess, any little reminder of him kept returning, a song he loved and particularly TAPS. finally I will never be over the loss but have learned to live with this tragedy. Now and every year I still get depressed around this time but can accept it, the amazing thing is that the depression comes before the anniversary, once the day passes I feel alright again.I take comfort in the fact that I knew him, and that he was my son. You will be alright, I know that you will, the memory is raw right now, you keep him in your heart always, that is where our love lives for all who have passed on.
