Each one was a cheaper (while more expensive) knockoff of the other, that turned and smelled cheap no matter who was wearing it. Was introduced to the natural blends and have *never* gone back. There's no replacing them. I've a rose blend that has the fragrance of the rose no department store perfumery could replicate. No alcohol, the fragrance is wonderful in the bottle and on the body. " Perfume, technically being a luxury/lifestyle product, was sure to follow suit (or lead it really). In style magazines and even interior design magazines, there is more & more about EVERYTHING GREEN. The designers of couture clothing, avant garde furnishings & accessories & PERFUME are going to have to start to realize that people are doing their homework and becoming more aware of what they put on or in their bodies. There are more and more articles and educational shows discussing how things are made, and what goes into cosmetics, perfume, and clothing. There is even a show spefically dedicated to that on Style Network! I know from my own research and experience that my generation (Gen X) definitely is more product ingredient savvy and perfers organic & all natural compared to that of a fancy designer label. For me, if I'm going to pay a top dollar for something, I'm going for quality over the name on the label! This is what I TREASURE & CHERISH about making purchases from Aftelier...Mandy is a NP intity, but also has found herself a niche in the HIGH END perfume market, with her phenominally original and layered " novelistic " potions that are bottled in luxurious precious glass flacons, flasks, and cases. To me, this is what sets her apart from the independent perfumer's products that I've seen...the packaging, the marketing, the PR. Her perfumes & products are packaged beautifully...thus being the first thing that meets our senses (our sight) BEFORE we get to smell & experience what's in store for us inside...our first impression. Hence, Aftelier perfumes are an all around originally opulant, mystical experience...making it well worth the high price (which always brings exclusivity). She has thus raised the bar for high end perfumery altogether (not just NP). I've found that style & luxury trends are usually led by celebrities. We all know who's perfume they ALL covet...pick up any style magazine & read on about her! With Mandy setting the standard for perfume so high...the market is going to eventually demand that the designer's of synth's follow suit...or their sales will continue to be sacrificed. GO MANDY!!! Modern design is really starting to lead the way in terms of being green. Here in Chicago, green design is really the buzz right now, especially since the mayor is gung-ho about green building and other such things. We've got a way to go(like a decent and efficient recycling program), but where there is a will, there is a way. As a Gen Xer, I also am very much prone to be attracted to what is organic or natural. I've always thought that there has to be some way to live with nature, rather than against it. <This is what I TREASURE & CHERISH about making purchases from Aftelier...Mandy is a NP intity, but also has found herself a niche in the HIGH END perfume market, with her phenominally original and layered " novelistic " potions that are bottled in luxurious precious glass flacons, flasks, and cases. What great PR for us! No offense to the hippie types, but I think she helped NP get a new image, separate from the patchouli and granola lifestyle(not that there is anything wrong with that, I would be a hypocrite to demean that culture, especially after what I wrote above!), but you have to admit, most Americans just arent into that kind of thing! They love the glitz and glama!! Thoroughly modern (well maybe not totally thoroughly) --------------------------------- Looking for last minute shopping deals? Find them fast with Search.
