Could it be some sort of perfumed resin perhaps? Like a labdanum base? If so, you should be able to tincture it in alcohol or infuse it in oil. I have to be somewhat skeptical that the " musk " is the real deal, but you never know. Thanks for your help, " Years ago I was given several small wax like balls of " musk " from Morocco. I always assumed they were wax imbued with musk essence, very light and pleasant smelling. Now a sandalwood rock? not sure what that would be. Could the ones you have be like an amber resin/ essence type substance. Eden makes several types of amber essence " rocks " . curious....
