My name is Athene, 23, and I was born with Spina Bifida. Although I have had many surguries in my short life, I have not had any problems in the last 10 years until recently. Last month I went to the doctor because of unbarable pain in my back and leg...turns out I shouldn't have been so lax with my yearly check-ups with my neurosurgeon.I have 4 blown discs, a bone spur off of a vertabra, no less than 8 crushed nerves, more hypoplastic nerves than originally thought, and a lypoma that has tethered to my spinal cord. WOO HOO!!!Just looking for some people to chat with during the day, seeing as how I am on bed rest until surgery. sigh. ******************************** HELLO ATHENE.
