I agree, points for honesty, no points for actually being a human being. This is terrible, Peta, feel very bad for you. What's the matter with these people?

A thought for you Peta

Your story just confirms what we have learned from our own

experience that this " made of steel " attitude is widespread in the

medical establishment.

Spurs me on even more to do the " right thing " for my boy through

biomed, etc. We are our children's only advocates!

I can only chime in by saying,

Knowledge IS power,

so do your OWN research.

It will give you the confidence to do do what you think is right by your child!

Thanks for your replies and support. Those of you who just have US

dr's - how do you get your blood tests done? Does your pead or dr

agree to do them or do you have to pay for another private dr in

England?

I have to start searching for another GP and will obviously have to

be more guarded about what I say this time but I still need to get

those damn blood tests!

Very good quote Mandi. Another one I like from Bradsteet - old

chinese proverb:

" The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the

person doing it "

We dont have a US Dr but I think I remember from earlier posts there

is a place in London, off Harley Street, the Doctors Lab I think, and

also a place near the Breakspear, Bedford perhraps, I remember Joanne

posting details, maybe they are on the Treating Autism site?

Also a dr in Ohio, near me Dr. Philip DeMio will treat your child without seeing, with just a videotape and will order tests, although I admit I don't know how that works overseas. Mandi will probably have the information on this dr.

You can order tests through IWDL labs.

Ideally you want a DAN practitioner who can interpret them for you

but IWDL take direct requests.

Come to the treating autism conference....

A little birdie tells me someone is going to win a full panel of DAN

testing worth a lot of money in the raffle..

You can get blood drawn at the Breakspear hospital in Hemel

Hempstead for about £25 even if you are not one of their patients.

Alternatively there is a lab called Mulhaven in Bedford.

You can also go to various BUPA hospitals which are private and get

the blood drawn there. Look up the bupa website.

Once you have the tests and they show up alsorts GP's seem ok near

me to help out treating the kids - with flagyl.

The latest organix and stool tests recommend the treatments so helps

the GP.

Full blood counts..

Most kids are iron deficient (low ferritin) and you can ask him to

retest to see if things have improved (whilst asking for a full

blood count whilst he is doing it ).

My GP has done quantative amino acid blood and urine following my

first private one being so bad.

Tests are good.

Have managed to get the Doctor in the surgery up the road from my GP

to agree to do it for a friend as well now - (fortunately his kid

has aspergers and he was dead keen !)

GP believes my kid is heavy metal toxic after showing him porphryin

tests and urine toxic metals showing lead coming out and is doing

all the routine bloods now which is great.

Good on him..

its good to have the tests..but if i had to do it all again without

tests my plan would be...

1) Oxypowder to clear gut.

Possibly a course of flagyl which you dont need a script for and can

get from the usa.

2) Plenty of probiotics - CP1 , Bifido , acidophilus, caseii,

salivarius

3) Get the antifungals in - Kirkmans Yeast aid

4) Get the multivits in (metabolics) - top up with calcium ,

magnesium , B6 , zinc, folinic+B12, Molybdenum , CoQ10 ,Cod liver

oil

Add extra minerals formula -

Add in extra vitamin C Vitamin E.

Iron at some point.

5) Add in Amino Acid formula

or get a base one and assume kid low in taurine , tryptophan and top

up.

6) Trial B12 shots

7) Add TTFD cream

8) Chelation with whatever suits child best. Oral DMSA in our case.

Hope you manage to find a more understanding GP.

Thanks Joanne

Will look up IWDL labs. Found doctors lab in London that might be

able to do them.

My dr wouldn't even look at Charlie's awful test results ( this is

going back a year even).Where i live (Eastbourne) I can't mention

treating Charlie or biomed stuff without landing myself in trouble

so I'm not going to bother from now on. You get to the point when

you realise that lots of people know that our kids have been

poisoned but actually very few people care and even fewer want to

help us.

Sorry feeling pissed off - have had a crap summer holidays!
