Guest guest
Hi Kerry, I got the video you mailed me. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I really appreciate you mailing it to me. I'm hoping to do the workout with my mom some time after the holidays. I know that my mom will have to modify a lot and I will probably have to modify some of the moves...dunno for sure yet. How are you doing? Jen
Guest guest
Hi Jen, So glad it made it to you. That was quick! Enjoy, Kerry PS I'm doing great, My shoulders and upper back are sore, ! I noticed tonight while talking to my oldest DD that I can reach my left hand up behind my back and grab it with my right hand. Only up to the first knuckle, but it's a start. I immediately had to run downstairs to show my youngest DD who promptly showed me that she can grab her whole hand; The BRAT! I do weird things while talking to my girls, they've finally decided they can't stop me from breaking out into a yoga pose or a stretch, so they just ignore it now. LOL! Have fun with the workout, I hope your Mom likes it. Jen wrote: Hi Kerry, I got the video you mailed me. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I really appreciate you mailing it to me. Guest guest
Wow Kerry, I'm very impressed even in if your DD isn't! Love the breaking into yoga poses and stretches, that is hilarious! How old are your daughters? Sounds like you have lots of fun together! Re: TO Kerry Hi Jen, So glad it made it to you. That was quick! Guest guest
LOL!!! Yes, well, thank you so much for being impressed, I sure was. My daughters are 17 and 20, so I guess they should be used to my quirkiness by now. Sometimes I just feel like I gotta stretch! We do have a lot of fun together. How old are your children? Guest guest
17 & 20, that explains their not being so impressed! :-) I have an 8 1/2 year old boy, , and a 5 year old girl, Miriam and both are, for now, easily impressed!! :-) I try to have a lot of fun with them but my husband is really the sillier parent, especially because he's not around them 24/7! We also had a little boy, , who died when he was not quite 3 days old. He would have turned 10 at the end of September. Because of him and other experiences, I try very hard to be a fun, silly but still serious and ready to lead parent. Now I'm trying to lead by example with exercise and eating right. The kids tell me about school and I tell them what I did while they were gone, including the fact that mommy exercised today! They're so proud of me when I tell them that, it is so cute! That's more encouragement because I want to be able to show and tell them about mommy staying healthy! I don't break into spontaneous yoga poses or stretches (yet??) but I can get down on the floor or out in the yard and play actively with them without getting tired! :-) Re: TO Kerry LOL!!! Guest guest
Yes, that's why they aren't impressed, at least your kids are still impressed with everything you do. So sorry to hear of , that must have been a difficult time. I think that's wonderful that you share your day with your children and they are proud of you when you exercise. You are setting a good example. Being able to get down on the floor to play with your kids is a nice bonus! Guest guest
Well, they're not impressed with EVERYTHING but enough, it is very funny sometimes! Wow mom, you did THAT?!! Oooooooh! So funny and so sweet! Thanks too for your kind thoughts about and me with the other two. We enjoy a family dinner every night and the main topic of conversation is usually what we each did since we're separated from each other now that they're both in school. I'll say, I exercised and then... and Miriam, the 5 year old, will say something like, "I exercised today too! We had gym class!" So fun!! Guest guest
Darcy, Thank you so very much for your kindness!! I work hard at it and sometimes that pays off (and sometimes I just hope it will in the future). I believe even the most horrible things have blessings, even though they're often hard to find, and one of the blessings of having had for such a short time is that I learned to appreciate what I do have in this moment and to be more deliberate about enjoying it, that carries over into my parenting of his brother and sister (when I'm not tearing my hair out because we're having a "they're driving me nuts and I'm trying really hard to find the things to be thankful for" day)! This board really is helping me to set the example I want to with exercise. Being accountable and being encouraged and motivated by everyone else's hard work is awesome. Thank you again, Darcy, your post really made me feel great! Re: TO Kerry LOL!!! Yes, well, thank you so much for being impressed, I sure was. Guest guest
That is great you are discussing exercise like this with your children, it will make them see that exercise is important. Your little Miriam is so sweet. Kerry Well, they're not impressed with EVERYTHING but enough, it is very funny sometimes! Wow mom, you did THAT?!! Oooooooh! So funny and so sweet!
