Helen - The gentle leader for the dog will help you tremendously in not finding yourself in the same spot again! I used one on my 110# lab/pit. No, he didn't take to it at first - but when he knew if he wore it he was going for a walk, he stopped fighting it and sactually put his head where I could get it on easily. I don't use it anymore, it got to the point that he behaved himself out on a walk and I was able to donat it to someone else that could use it. Hope you aches and pains are gone soon from the fall!Kate C
