I wonder if any of you know where I can get hold of a copy of this book by Dr Yasko? The only two places I can find are going to charge me between $70 and $100 just for posting to UK (the book is only $30!)Any ideas on how/if I can get that cost down?!?!?!?

>>>As a member of Treating Autism - do you feel this is one we should have in our Library?

My eldest Tom just raisied £850 for TA but we don;t get the money till end of August and we need to hold on to most of it until the new year for cash flow for the conference but there are a couple of books people have asked for we could buy.

The other one is Andy Cutlers Amlagam Illness (was lendning my copy but I don't know who has it now) and somebody else asked for this one too.

Let me know, Librbary needs to have the books our members want to borrow

This is what we do with most everything that we import from the US - of course this is easy for us as we have a multitude of contacts! LOL. Be sure to have your friends mark the customs sticker as being a GIFT to you. It is also a lot cheaper if the package weighs under 4 pounds. Anything over isn't worth sending in one package as it has to go through another courier. 4 pounds costs about $27.

Hi,

If there are several of us wanting the new edition, would it be worth

investigating a bulk order? possibly through a bookshop?

I was also thinking of asking a friend in the States to get it (once

I've checked delivery charges there) and then mail it on to me...or

asking aound to see if anyone flying the pond wanted some light

reading on the way home!

Actually, while I think it would be a super book for the TA library,

from what I've heard, it will take a lot of digesting and so it might

not circulate very fast. Anyone got any brain enzymes?!

Both Andy Cutler's books are good imo - and not too expensive for

useful reference works.

Hi

I have just been in touch with Holistic Heal and they can do six

books for $29.95 each (about £20 I think) and the total shipping

would be $37 (about £24 I think). Which would mean shipping costs

per book would be a much more palatable £4.

Any one interested?

I thought I'd posted a request for this. If it's too late, then

don't worry. But sign me up for a copy if there's still time.

Books have arrived today!! Unfortunately I think there are going to

be some disappointed folks as I got two or three requests in after I

placed the order (maybe you can have first " bagsy " from TA

Library?!?!?)

Costs, after allowing for exchange rates etc, came out to:

£241.93 (this includes the shipping from US) divided by 12 =

£20.17. I am thinking of sending them out second class which, going

by the Post Office website, should be £1.39 per book so each will

cost £21.56. (Please feel free to check the maths - never was a

strong point, LOL)

I ordered 12 books so have 11 to give out. I have double checked

and the first 11 requests I received were from:

Patience

Treating Autism Library

Sara

Gail

Sathya

Geir

Tina

Dave McGrath

Baz

Joy

So, if those mentioned above could contact me off list with address

details and advising whether you wish to pay by cheque or paypal on

jacqui @ jem999 .fsnet .co .uk (without spaces). I will get them

out to you asap.

Should anyone have changed their minds, please let me know. As I

mentioned before their are others interested so I should be able to

get " rid " of them!!

Here's hoping there'll be enough of us reading this so between us we can understand it LOL!!

Maybe we should try and get together and put together an idiots guide for Treating Autism website or something. Hate suggesting these thinghs cos I am good on suggestions but rubbish at the actual doing...

>>Its all already on the Autism Answers site - yeah I finally mad it there at the weekend and got in lol

No short cuts with Yasko, YOU HAVE TO LEARN IT, end of!

wish it wasn't so hard - I can't really explain anything to yet - thats my way of justifying things like £450 on a test we can't get covered by Caudwell............................oops

Hi

I still have three books left and have had no contact from those who

requested them. SOoooo, I have decided to give:

Joy

Dave McGrath

Baz

until Monday to make contact with me - that will have given them two

weeks in total. If I do not hear from them they will be offered to

the top three on the " waiting list " .

Sara - I am guessing you do want yours still as you have emailed me?

Let me know if you've changed your mind.

Best wishes

Jacqui
