I ordered recently. It is Boswellia Thurifera (one step up from the

carterii, normally the variety found from " bulk " suppliers, even most

retailers). This frankincense has a wonderful lemon-y fragrance that

is in contradistinction to the astringencey of other affordable

frankincenses. I haven't tried this in soap yet, but I aim to very

shortly. It is available at www.essencesupply.com

Hi Mike,

Wow -- it's been a while! Thank you for sharing this with us. I'm

always on the lookout for good frankincense. I have many, and am

always seeking that special one that " goes to eleven " .

Cheers!

Hi Anya,

I got some from them too. I really like it! And I finally solved my

burning question about my " holy grail of frankincense " (in our

archives). I finally figured out that the frankincense that I was

swooning over (from the local health foods cooperative) for was

actually composed of frankincense and labdanum. Which makes me so

happy because I loved it so much, and now can make it myself. Whee!

Cheers!

Hi Mike, Anya, Andrine all

This group is so amazing ....after reading threads I also went hunting and

discovered a third variety of incense A Boswellia frerana is anyone

familiar with this one and its scent properties ?....

therifora, carterii and now frerana.and a combi of labdanum and

frankincense... Andrine which one of those was that? . I think at present I just

have the carterii so will be keen to smell the frerana and therifora

Every good wish, Janita

Hi Andrine

How did they label it? So odd to mix the two and not label them. Perhaps

it was in a body care product?
