Typically waking from sound sleep involves all of the above.

Couldnt' get back to sleep again, and had a stuffy and runny nose and bunged sinuses which had cleared by my proper waking up time. Will try again tonight. Guest guest
My suggestion was more food ie. yam/salt/butter BEFORE BED, not more carbs during the day. Guest guest
> My suggestion was more food ie. yam/salt/butter BEFORE BED, not more > carbs during the day. > Dr Mike I thought your suggestion was to have an ounce of juice with added salt every couple of hours through the day, thereby keeping my salt and blood sugar levels stable/higher? Your comment about the yam was that it may help, but the juice through the day would be better. Well, I know I couldn't keep up with the juice, and had to use stuff that I had to hand and already eat out of habit, so just started eating every 2-3 hours during the day, making sure there were carbs with each snack to keep my blood sugar from dropping too low. Also adding more salt to my meals. You suggested the juice would add around 25g carbs to my daily intake - I haven't reached that increase yet, but I'm getting there. Guest guest
I apologize for not being clear on this. First yes the juice will impact the bs however it is more important for its easy potassium content along with the salt mineral content. This is far more important in this senario than the bs. And certainly far more important than the carbs. Don't waste your time adding any old carbs. Second my suggestion for the juice was trying to add as little food and be a minimally disruptive to your normal day/diet. My suggestion for the yam/butter/salt was my " food " suggestion. You can do one or both but don't vary it. Not because its magical I just know it works. Once you do it and it works you can then futz around all you want in experimenting with other stuff. But by going with one of these or both exactly will give a good baseline. Its possible that neither will work and that will tell something entirely different about your situation but that is the least likely of the possibilities. Sorry if I was unclear. Ok, I get it now. What juice do you recommend? Orange juice? Fresh squeezed or concentrate? Bananas are high potassium - would they do? My suggestion > for the yam/butter/salt was my " food " suggestion. I don't think I've ever seen a yam in this country, so that one's out. Thanks Jo
Guest guest
Obviously the best would be fresh squeezed but quite inconvenient so for these purposes one of the OJ's not from concentrate. OJ is easier to salt than a banana. Sweet potato will suffice.
