The brand that I`m using is Nordid Naturals, which I thought was a good brand. These are the type of things I`m seeing. Screaming (like in Pain), very argumentative, will not listen to anything. Very difficult behavior. Very rigid and upset easily. The last week has been a nightmare. He does have a small cold, but appears ok other than that physically. I can not get him to do anything I ask without a major problem. BTW, his dx is high functioning autism. He is very verbal, but is only 7, so really has no clue what is wrong. Neither do I. He was not like this before I started the NF, not this bad, but even after discontinuing, the problems still persist. Dana said she thought it might still be yeast. I don`t know what to think. Any insight? Thanks. Debbie in PA

Guest guest
Hi. I am a registered nurse, and a grandparent of a 29 year old grand daughter who has multiple seizures and high functioning. She was on Keppra until recently. She developed severe behavior problems. I had been informed at a nursing conference for developmental disabled individuals by the drug rep for Keppra, in April of 06 that Keppra for some individuals can cause behavior problems. The Nursing drug hand book did not list adverse behaviors as a side effect, which the rep had told me. Since then I have read an advertisement for Keppra in a woman's journal that listed a long laundry list of behaviors that Keppra may cause. My grand daughter was weaned of the medication and started on another medication. All the bad behaviors have ceased. Hope this helps others Sincerely Virginia

**************************************
AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at http://www.aol.com. Guest guest
My daughter was diagnosed with occipital epilepsy at age 4. We did hyperbarics in Winter Park FL. when she was 5. She was well controlled until age 10 when I saw manifestations of left temporal lobe seizures. We doubled keppra last March from 500x2/day to 750x2. Then in May she had another seizure and we increased it to 750x3 per day. Two months later we did 40 hbot treatments. After hbot, I saw mood outbursts and reduced her to 750x 2. That was in August . She stayed at 750 x2 for 6 months. Then In Feb. she told me she had headaches and was aware of a seizure at school. I have again changed her to 3x 750 per day. I believe initial seizures were occipital and perhaps she has outgrown them. Now I am guessing that they are left temporal. They began as a stuttering at school noticed by the teacher with no history in speech treatment of stuttering. We have done a total of 120 hyperbaric sessions since age 5. She will probably do them this summer at age 12. I see her awareness improved. Due to the severity of the eeg abnormality at age 4, the neuro-who tends not to be educational told me they were not a canidate for surgery. I don't know where her abnormalities lie but as a parent, I see improvement in hyperbarics. She tells me the chamber helps her have less headaches. I myself was a rt. temporal lobe patient who worsened in mid life. I pursued rt. temporal lobectomy in 1998. Roy Bakay did my surgery at Emory. I took Dilantin for over 30 yrs. , conceived my first daughter- normal now 15 on depakote, switched to dilantin and at age 38 at 21 wks pregnant had a convulsive seizure in the car traveling to Texas. at 25 wks, my age 34, was diagnosed IUGR. I did bed rest and abrupted at 34 wks. My daughter was delivered emergency c-seciton, recussitated, hospitalized 5 months until I requested check out. The list goes on. Seizures and developmental delay are her limitations. She is small framed size but catching up with genotropin. We have done speech, OT, PT, and hyperbarics . I beleive Neuros are too slow in development and too shy to refer for surgery, so I am leading my child's treatment decisions. I take her to an adult neuro and will always pursue hyperbarics. Since I was told that the PVL was more severe on the left than the rt. side, I believe she is now having left temporal seizures. They are so minute that I increased med by her recognizing headaches instead of seeing full blown seizures. Guest guest
We have a nine year old male client; 80 tx of HBOT between the 6th and 9th years. At 2yr. he had MRI of brain (hypoxic at birth, severe) which demonstrated the damage. MRI at 9 yr old revealed normal. The MD contested the mother's testimony that the MRI at 2yr was that of damage. After much searching for the report, MD had to acknowledge the improvement, but had previously stated that MRI does not go from damaged to normal. All things are possible with God. Guest guest
I was reading the below post about the MRI and had a question. With HBOT should you see a change in the MRI? My daughter is just about 6 years old and has completed 120 HBOT treatments over the last couple of years. We haven't had an MRI recently. Do you think there might be changes? Guest guest
Thanks. I am not sure I see behavior problems. My daughter needs prompting to wash her face, brush her teeth, and seems to be tactily hyposensitive. I don't see tantrums but saw stronger anger reactions after our last 40 sessions of hbot. Guest guest
Sounds like you would want to have a (PET) scan not a MRI.
