Well, I would say go for the bosu!! I soo love it. But, I haven't used my rebounder at all besides just messing around on it. The bosu will also take up less space ;)Good luck decidin!Darcy

I envision using the rebounder to up the intensity of

some workouts (Like or Charlene's low impact

floor routines) or to take some of the impact out of

those extremely high impact workouts. Plus it looks

like fun. But, I can see the BOSU being quite

interesting to use also....for strength and cardio.

HMMM... The BOSU is more expensive, but not by too

much.

Any thoughts?

oh well. and like you said, it is probably for the best, as you

were uncertain about it to begin with. often, we do best listening

to our gut feelings. wait and see what january brings... maybe dh

will be more receptive to it then and you will have thought of a

solution for your dd. or, by then something else will show up that

you are interested in even more ;)

oh yeah! i had forgotten about the bosu.... it sounds neat, i dont

really know what you do with one though so i cant give any advice on

that. i hope that someone who has both a bosu and a rebounder will

be able to answer.

do you do with the bosu darcy?

its too bad that you havent gotten that rebounder out... i think

that it is really fun and makes workouts that i would normally not

enjoy much more attractive. hopefully this wont happen, but someday

if your (or a client's) knees hurt from doing high impact, then you

might use it. if i need to store mine, i just flip it up on its

side and lean it against a wall, or slide it behind the couch or tv

or whatever. the legs screw off too. but anyway, i want to hear

more about the bosu please :)

I use the bosu for a great ab routine that I put together.. (sitting on the bosu) You can also use the bosu in place of like a step. Anything that you would do on the step, do on the bosu.. for instance squats.. One leg on the bosu, one leg off or lunges..etc.. Mostly I use it for cardio though and I do " drills " with it. umm.. bunny hops on and off the bosu....jumping jacks on and off the bosu.... just alternating knee lifts using the bosu... stand on bosu, stradle down,and jump up.... fast toe-taps..alternating leg extensions....power squats (turning 180 degrees back and forth)

It is also great for plank work. You can flip it over and use it that way for planks. Or use it the regular way and do side planks.. Really it is so versatile. You can do anything w/ it you can do on a step, in my opinion. Just may have to modify a tad.

Donna my friend, I wish I knew what to tell you! The BOSU is EXCELLENT for core work, better than any other gizmo out there! Chalene does a video for them, btw, and she swears by them. We had something similar at the gym which was a Reebok Core Board, but the BOSU is even better than that!On the other hand, the rebounder has a big FUN FACTOR. I remember in elementary school we had a full size trampoline (long gone now I'm sure with insurance being what it is these days, we also had very high monky bars and a fast merry go round) and the rebounder sounds like a blast! I don't really "get" how Carolyn uses it for step, etc. but I know she loves it. I think the BOSU might be better fitness wise, but I think the rebounder might have more lasting appeal. Ug! Look on Craigslist and get both of them used!! Remember, we in this group are the exception. Most people

that buy exercise equipment use it for a month tops and then it collects dust. I had an exercise bike that wound up being a place to hang my clothes. I gave it to a coworker who uses it all the time!

It helps in that now I want both! If I budget in the

coming year - being good about avoiding impulse

purchases - I think I can do it! I also REALLY need

to go through my collection and start some

trades/sales going. I have a few collecting dust and

it is just buggin' me. I guess I shouldn't push

myself to do it now with so much to do with the

holidays, but I'll start that in January!

Wow, you can do all that on a bosu?! My son's OT had one and I just tried standing on it and found that challenging enough (and I have good balance, or so I thought)! Wow! I thought it was just a weird, challenging, half ball thing, now I know even more, thanks for the ideas Darcy!

ive never used the rebounder for a step workout. but for floor

aerobics, it has been very good for me.
