Guest guest
Thanks, Sara, actually we've just had a lovely evening at the park, was in excellent form and it seems to ease the troubles of his red and painful bits! Tomorrow feels somewhat like an anti-climax - the big VB day has finally arrived and here we go..... Guess we'll share ABA anniversaries! What a life, eh? You will get help here and the poor little mite will get better and better (I can never remember that on the good days). GOOD LUCK with your VB workshop tomorrow – that should give you a big lift. I’ll be thinking of you as we also have a VB workshop tomorrow (exactly one year from the date of our first ABA workshop). Sara x

We are currently retesting stools and doing a mini organix which will hopefully shed more light. We use a cream called Cervagyn which you get from the Nutricentre. We use it as maintenance . When we get a nasty flare up we switch to Fucidin cream, the first is a probiotic cream and the second an antibiotic. We have even used both on the same day but at diff. times ie. kill off baddies then put good stuff back in. Hope that helps Good Luck Helen x

I'm so tired I don't even know if I can write this out...!!! erm, what follows is not for the faint hearted.... has been on the Klaire Ther-Biotics for 10 days now. It helped the coulor of his stools and he definitely showed signs of feeling better. He is, however, having intermittent red penis and testicles and it is causing him SERIOUS distress and pain. Last night he did not sleep AT ALL because of his painful penis <ouch>! It wasn't red when he went down for sleep but by the morning it was pretty bad. I guess it is yeast? I can't trace it to food, no new supplements, etc. He is gradually getting constipated though (a first for him) and I think the constipation is because of too high dose of probiotic. Yesterday he could not go poo and his rectum was really red. So I guess the constipation is stirring up the yeast? Behaviourally he is doing really well, yesterday was a great day so I'm confused. He's not on very many supplements yet as we have to take it slow with him as he's so reactive to everything. Anyone put any comments or suggestions together for me or are all of you out at picnics drinking sangria? I need some sleep tonight as we are starting our VB program tomorrow and we will have a house full of people and I need to TRY to be compos mentis <if that's ever truly possible in my case> Thanks! Oh god, Sara. Dr. Darla has been at work. Poor kiddo!!! I took him off the Klaire and put him back on the less potent Bio-Kult. The penile redness, etc went away. So yesterday I tried him again on the Klaire thinking I would see if he got the yeast again. Bingo. <ouchie!!!> Red penis again last night and no poos yesterday. The Klaire is definitely too strong for him so I'll have to give him half a capsule. At least I know what is causing it and I'll back off it for now and save it for the times his diahrrea gets horrific. He did brilliantly on his first VB trials. He said FOUR WHOLE NEW WORDS SEVERAL TIMES!!! The first stinkin' day. He is kickin' butt!!! (even with a red and inflamed penis!) He loved the tutors and the manding. Of course, he will not say said words to me......even when I prompt him and refuse his reinforcers.....sigh...I'm just not as exciting as those tutors. Thanks for asking, Sara. Guest guest
I am SOOOO pleased for you. I LOVE VB and I knew he would do well with it – he sounds like such a clever boy. What were his new words? He’s off to a roaring start, Tom didn’t say a word for 3 months (but that was with plain ABA) Was talking anyway? We also had a workshop on Monday and we’re also chuffed to bits with his progress since. We did loads of work on compliance and since then Tom has started to play nicely by himself. He has a new toy Maisy Mouse which he is doing all sorts of imaginative things with like brushing her teeth, putting her in his pedal car, putting her on the swings and the slide (and commenting each time what she is doing). A woman at the park today said to his VB therapist ‘don’t they have marvellous imaginations at that age?’ Little did she know that that was almost the first imaginative play he had ever had!!! Tom had never really been a naughty or controlling child before but in the last couple of weeks this had become a real issue and I’m AMAZED to see that when we dealt with it, it made him less obsessive and improved his imaginative play. Isn’t the mind a mysterious thing? Sara x Re: help with alex possible yeast stuff? In a message dated 09/08/2006 14:30:27 GMT Standard Time, Moroza-Tiscali (DOT) co.uk writes: How is now Darla?
