Guest guest
I've just had T's profile results back, waiting on GAR but from my attempts to understand he needs this BH4 stuff. Do you have to order through YAsko website or can u get it in Uk? Anyone able to tell me how long a wait there is between getting results and getting the GAR back? Guest guest
Hi Gail You can get it in its pure form from switzerland (do a search on google -there is one swiss supplier and one Japanese) and have it shipped to the UK (which is what we did last summer so we've been on it 10/11 months) or buy it in a less pure form from Dr Yasko as biothyro. My understanding is that Dr Yasko is going to sell it in its pure form at some point in the future (when she can get a good source). We haven't seen any particular changes that I can attibute to BH4 since we added it but we're doing lots of stuff and Flynn is improving. Also Flynn has a CBS upregulation so he produces ammonia (neuro-toxin) from protein and the body needs BH4 to get rid of the ammonia so i feel i need to keep going. Guest guest
Thanks Jess - will google. T sounds same as your son - also using 2 BH4 to get rid of 1 ammonia. Am seeing Dr Heard 2moro will discuss with him - not sure how up on 'Yasko' stuff he is though. Guest guest
Jess - need some help - did google BH4 - didn't find any suppliers. What search term did you enter? Thanks Gail > > > > > > > > > In a message dated 22/07/2006 23:27:00 GMT Daylight Time, > > > callyflower@ writes: > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > My dd has been using it for 3 weeks. Guest guest
Hi Gail There really aren't any 'Yasko' Dr's and most are reading the same stuff we are. I'm not sure what to do about Dr's right now and have an appointment with Dr Usman in Dec as she's supportive of Yasko but not sure she has any greater insight than reading the message board, but I feel I need to have a dr for blood tests etc. We've had phenominal sucess with Yasko's protocol over the last almost 2 years. I've been on Dr Yasko's waiting list for 2 years and recently found out we won't be getting in anytime soon. The BH4 swiss company is http://www.schircks.com but you need a dr to order it. Neopterine and biopterin nearly the same, should be a 1/2 ratio. We have started spironalacton to reduce neopterine and dr said would be a good idea to give BH4 if we can get hold of it - they can't in the States. Does anyone here use it and how do you get it - it can't be sent to a private address. >>>People are getting it in the US, its VERY expensive. There is a website somewhere that you sign up for a longdistance consult and then they will sell to you. I try to find out where it is Mandi x
Guest guest
Peta, Thanks very much for this. Can you tell me if you had the test done at the lab in Paris? If not, what lab did you do it through? Lulu's results were so bizarre, that it's hard for me to process them. Dr. Yasko said that they indicate a problem in recycling BH4, and probably viral/bacterial load/immune activation. Interestingly, under conditions of immune stimulation, indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase and GTP cyclohydrolase activity is induced, resulting in tryptophan degradation to kynurenine and neopterin production, respectively. One of the things that slows down tryptophan degradation is the addition of niacinamide and/or NADH. Both have done WONDERS for Lulu. NADH was a revelation and niacinamide, which we just added last week, has turned this little girl into a different person -- so calm and grown up! My husband and I are going around the house beaming with pride, our jaws permanently dropped. We're also on an extensive bacteria/aluminum/gut protocol with Dr. Yasko, so we have a lot of background stuff covered right now to detox bacteria, aluminum and lead. We're working hard ons strep and some other things that showed up in the CDSA. We haven't started BH4 for Lulu other than in MINISCULE amounts that are included with another supplement. So I can't tell you how this is going, sad to say. I hope to have more news soon, however. Guest guest
Oh Theresa, This is so wonderful to hear about Lulu.... very keen to hear what you are doing, and the results you are getting - this way we all gain... but especially your lovely daughter Lulu... thank you again Re: BH4 Peta,Thanks very much for this. Guest guest
Peta, No, I don't know if using BH4 will put an end to the inflammation. I don't even know if what I posted concerning Bh4 stopping inflammation instead of the spiro is true. But before I would use Spiro, I would certainly check it out. Natasa also has some wonderful papers on reducing inflammation with Chinese herbs. Supplements that reduce inflammation are cod liver oil, niacinamide and Vitamin K. Good luck in your quest, and do let us know what you find out. I do know where to get some Bh4, here in the states, but haven't pursued it, waiting for the porphyrin/biopterin test to see if we even need it. Re: BH4 Thanks My dr did say he couldn't get hold of the BH4 so I will ask if they are using spiro instead. And will ask about effect on the kidneys. Do you know if BH4 is an ongoing supplement ie does the infammation/ neop/biop levels go back to where it was if you stop taking BH4 ( sorry - bad English)Peta> > > >> > > > Hi we have just had pterine results and they are not good. > > > Neopterine > > > > and biopterin nearly the same, should be a 1/2 ratio.
