I have a neighbor like this. I used to say " Hi, how are you " when we

saw each other, now I just say a quick " Hello " and keep moving.

If you ask how she's doing, in less than 2 minutes she tells you

something negative, depressing, or sad. I still emphatize with her,

and can't imagine how she must feel on the inside with those daily

thoughts, but I also don't want to feel miserable with her.

I agree, if you can visual great expectations that become a reality,

that's much better than the alternative. Thanks for posting this. :)
