Guest guest
Wayne, The great thing about this forum is that even if you are laid up in bed, you can still write and vent. Welcome to the group BTW. It is really promising that you have lived with HIV for 20 years. Your lover's denial is a common way that people deal with incurable conditions and illness. It is a coping mechanism, although, I know it does not help you in anyway. Have you checked into any HIV support groups? That could provide support allong the way. Also if there is a MCC church in your area I would strongly recommend it. Hang in there and know there are lots of people here who understand and pass no judgement. We are all equal in this forum. Not to trivialize, but I believe a little positive thinking goes a long way. We are here to help and to listen... Venting is very healthy to all in my opinion ) We are all going through something and also have friends, family members, spouses and partners that deny what we are facing, your not alone in this matter... Keep on talking! ((( Caring Hugs )))Helen Hello,My name is Wayne, and I am new to this group. I have had the HIV for almost 20yrs now, then I tested pos for Hep 5yrs ago, and April 1st was the 2yr anniversary of my P.M.L.(Progressive Multifocal Luekencephopathy) diagnosis.Over all this time I have taken very little time to vent. My lover of 16yrs, is in denial of the fact that my days maybe numbered. He just can't speak of death. I do not dwell on it any more, but sometimes I feel like it's my little secret, that everone wants me to keep to myself. When it comes to making new freinds, I find it awkward having toexplain some of the individual quirks of my illnees. crowds, bright lights, and volume all potentially set off a seizure. Unusual speechpatterns. Stupid stuff!I feel positive, and I'm shocking the Drs. with how well I am doing. Since my diagnosis, 2 other patients were diagnosed with P.M.L., both have died. My lover believes I am getting better, and refuses to belief anything else. Even though the science says I don't have long, I am going to believe I am getting better. If you just believe.I am here to share. I need to not have a secret.Wayne THINK SPRING !!!* * * * * \/ \/ \/ \/ \/ See what's free at AOL.com. Don't be flakey.
