Guest guest
Hi Stuart, Joe had blasto, we used urva ursi. There was no blasto in his last stool test, never know whether these things really go for good tho. I think its a really common parasite and most carriers have no symptoms whatsoever, unless their immune systems are already compromised (that's our kids then)
Guest guest
Hi Stuart, we also had blasto, completely got rid of them using one course of Paromomycin presecribed by Dr H, it is an antibiotic so you may not want to go this route but it worked for us. Guest guest
7 cycles of life I believe! Very difficult to catch. But if you do have any success please don't forget to post how you did it. Thanks, >

Guest guest
I posted on this a while ago, thought I'd give an update. None of what follows is hugely scientific - lol. I looked into this a bit on the internet and had a chat with at Breakspeare. The first thing is, Blastocystis is v hard to get rid of. It is also not necessarily malignant. A lot of people will have these para sites without any negative side effects. However, if there other digestive issues such as yeast, floral imbalances etc then they do cause problems - tiredness, bloating and a very long list of other issues. Flagylll is the drug that appears most often recommended by GP's. There is a significant amount of anecdotal evidence that it is not generally effective in removing blasto and that after 1 round of treatment, blasto will become immune to it. Black Walnut will kill it, but is apparently very strong stuff and will kill an awful lot else as well. The view I formed was this was a little bit " weapon of last resort " . When my son had parasites a few years ago, ovex, given 3 days on the bounce, twice monthly around full moon cycles, was very effective. We had stool tests done and it killed everything without any obvious negative impact on the intestine flora etc. We then followe dit up with a monthly single dose at full moon. It is no longer effective in any way against blasto for my son. had a view that it wasn't intended to be used against blasto so no surprise. I think that it may have been effective early on, but now we have a version that has grown resilient to ovex. The other factor is that as we've killed off yeast and " bad " bacteria , the blasto has opportunisticallly filled the void. In the end, we went with paromomycin, which is branded Humatin. I choose this following evidence from other parents on its effectiveness and Chris recommending it. We have just finished a 10 day period using it. I divided the daily dose into 6 portions that I gave every 4 hours. had a view that as Humatin is transient, more frequent dosing is the key. We had a very minor amount of diarhorrea early on, but nothing serious. It is an anti-biotic, so now it's finished we're shoving as much probiotic in as we can. Obviously while giving Humatin, we have also been using a lot of anti-fungals. I will wait a month or so, then get a Stool retest. I'll let you know how it goes. But in the meantime, my son has been in a lovely mood since about day 3 and sleeping much better since about day 7 - As in he has never slept through a whole night until a few days ago, even when he does come into bed with us he is much less restless. Hope that helps. >From: " danaba01 " <danaba01@...> >Reply-Autism Treatment >Autism Treatment >Subject: Re: Just when you think you're winning >- Blastocystis >Date: Sun, 16 Jul 2006 16:08:26 -0000 > > > >7 cycles of life I believe!
