Guest guest
Hi Jacqui, My son used to suffer regularly with thread worms. Yes they are gross. We treated them and a few months later they returned. Eventually on the advice of Dr H we treated and then a fortnight later treated again. They have not returned so far. Try to stop him scratching and fingers going into his mouth - they are easily spread. Jane Re: Urgent help pls!! Thanks Mandi. This is soooooo gross! Guest guest
Mandi Yep - with you on that one. I'd like to meet the person who decided that clothes needed to be flat and punch them in the nose!! I'd guess the ironing is for the temperature?? To make sure anything there is dead - not sure... Guest guest
Hi Jane Thanks for this. This is the first time Jess has had them so I was totally freaked (pathetic I know). I'm fairly sure she's got them from School and, being the hols, I hope we'll be able to isolate the incident so to speak. However, I did think that this " one hit and their gone " stuff was a bit optimistic, considering how easily they are supposed to be spread, so I think I may do a second dose in two weeks to be sure.... My poor kids (I have two) don't know what's hit them. First day of the hols, and they are having their hands washed every two seconds, bedding stripped and ironed every day, towels changed as soon as they're used and one totally paranoid Mum - they must be thinking " When does school start again...? " Jacqui X > > > > > > In a message dated 22/07/2006 08:41:28 GMT Daylight Time, > > jacqui@ writes: > > > > I am going to try to get some Opex (I think that's whatit said on > this > > list) for J's threadworms (urghhh!) > > > > > > > > > > >>>OVEX > > > > > > She has a blood test on Monday - RBC and Minerals I think. Guest guest
jacqui, If everything's cotton, why not just boil wash towels and bed linen - that should get rid of the critters! If reinfection keeps happening via scratching, have you thought of a "Houdini" suit which zips up the back? There's no reason why it couldn't be made in cotton. Fledglings have a link with someone who can make such garments to order. I once read an article which recommended sticky tape over the exit at night (yes, really) and said it would catch them when they came out to play.... Margaret Re: Urgent help pls!!
