The Lime EO information has been very helpful to me. My thanks to all who

participated in the discussion.

I am still not sure what or if anything I should do about the seller. I have

considered letting them know how the product appeared to me, but I am not sure

this would acomplish anything. I really do not want to alienate anyone.

The Lime EO was a replacement for the palmarosa I mentioned earlier. The bottle

that the palmarosa was in, shattered. I was told that the climate change was

probably the reason for the glass to break, with no other apparent reason. I

was also told that it had happened 2-3 times previously to other customers.

I am chemically sensitive and the palmarosa episode has made me nervous about

strong florals, I store the eo's in my small apartment home, where I live. We

are not able to move even if the place reeks to high heaven. Needless to say

that first night after the spill was very smelly. So the reason for the lime eo

replacement.

Recently requested two samples from Vigon, one lavender the other cognac, the

Cognac was very strong alcohol smell but nice, It made me want to have a glass..

The lavender was more floral than I expected, almost too powdery. So I am

wondering if these were acutally eo's, that was my thinking when I ordered the

samples. Does anyone use Vigon for their essential oils?

I have also ordered some very nice essential oils from Lebermuth, so far I have

only had good experience'es from the eo's they sent. But I have only smelled

them, have not used them yet. Does anyone use Lubermouth? I think that I will

order from them again, when I can afford the min order.

I started using MMS essential oils, and because my experience with eo's was very

limited, I was not sure the quality was good.. I had a problem with the 40/42

lavender, it didnt smell as I expected it to. I had been using Tom's of Maine

Lavender hand soap, and the lavender smell was way different from the MMS, much

stronger. I talked to I guess Tina, there and was told that it was a good

lavender, and nothing was out of sorts with the lot. So I asked about the

strongest lavender and was told Bulgarian was the strongest, so I ordered

Bulgarian next, and to me that was farther from the " Toms " lavender than 40/42

and it didnt smell any better to me, I like their 40/42 better.

100pureessentialoils.com - In my search for a nice fragrant lavender I found a

online company that says their EO's are 100% pure. So I ordered a French

Lavender, and another 40/42.. I don't like the French Lavender, it is like the

Bulgarian it is to bland for me, their 40/42 smells closer to what I thought

Lavender should smell like.

While waiting for the French lavender to arrive, I read something about lavadin

it is supposed to be a strong lavender smell and good for soap making, so I

place an order for it through Snowdrift Farms, my eo's from SDF have been clear,

and appear to be just what I had expected, although there was a mix up and I

recieved 40/42 by mistake, which was quickly corrected, they rushed a Lavadin

out to me, their eo's were all in amber glass, very nice. So far I am happy

with SDF eo's. Think I want them on my list for good eo's. Ask me again in a

few weeks when I use them to make soap.

I have also recieved eo's from another company in Arizona, their eo's were

nicely packaged, but the lime (green jello, candy) one surprised me and I was not

sure they were ok.

Not sure I would order from this one again. There is something that turned me

off on them, but other than the lime, I cant remember what it was.

Then while ordering some other supplies I tried two eos, from a supply company

in Texas, and this is the company who's palmarosa in amber glass broke, and It

was replaced quickly with the lime with sediment and faint lime smell. The

service was very nice. I am gun (eo) shy because of my experience with theirs.

Even though my language is not perfumery, but layman terminology, I hope that

this will be useful for someone.

thank you all

Hi

You absolutely should tell the seller about the

strange lime oil. If they are decent folks they will

want to know and check it out.

On the other hand, this thing about the bottle

breaking due to " climate change " is nonsense. And

here, I'm assuming you mean a change in ambient

temperature, not global warming. (Ha! What won't they

blame on it next?) Glass can certainly crack when

subjected to rapid temperature change, but during the

course of shipping and handling, it would never be

subjected to such rapid and extreme temperature change

sufficient to make it crack. And if it were, you would

need to be worried about the quality of the oil inside

after subjected to such extremes. If it has happened

before, you would think they would take some action,

like finding another bottle supplier or

something(???????)

Hello all!! I am brand new to the group and this is my first post, I

must say, when I recieved this digest I was rapt- it actually got my

full on attention! I am a SHAM of 3 wonderful kids, and a darling

dear of a hubby- but I rarely get time to give something- other than

one of them- my full attention! LOL- But, I found the posts all very

informative- I am starting a home based essential oil blends business

from home, after the first of the year, I am learning so much and

loving the whole proccess more everyday!

I have been pouring over stacks of books and surfing the web day in

and day out to find as much info as I can - I actually got my very

first set of samples from a company called Eden Botanicals the other

day and I cannot keep my hands off them!! I got some EO's and several

solids as well- by accident on the solids...I had no clue what I was

ordering- but it came in a set so I got all excited!) When I recieved

my forst samples I loved the total price - but being normal- was

shocked at the sizes- SOOO SMALL! Then I remembered some thing I had

learned and these " samples " should last me for awhile whil I play and

get the hang od things.

I love that you are giving reviews of sellers and ideas on how to

make blends!!! I am so glad that I found this site- and it was linked

from the Parfumist's Apprentice site! Thanks!! Blessings~Angelhawk
