Alwyn, I'm struck by how many of the tinctured and infused plants we

have in common. We must be tincturing sisters at heart! In the New Year

I will be getting a distillation unit together, and that's where we'll

differ. No lavender grows near here. I'll be playing around with

tropical botanicals like avocado leaf, banana leaf, guava leaf, and

others I am putting on my short list.

I am really interested to have details about distilling units you use and

process details.

I have a lemon geranium outside full of leaves and begging to be distilled and

also a 6' bush with yellow daisy like flowers called Mexican Mint by the locals

cannot find any info for common name my friend the botanist said it was in

calendula family. Very fragrant. Butterflies glue two flowers together for

cocoon sweet many different types cocoon there. Dilema could be harmful to

humans and nothing like it in any books I have seen perhaps Alwyn knows as she

lives in CA anyone really.

thanks

Sorry Libby but you are in Oakland and I am in Berkeley, yes?

I can come met you and just bring you a bouquet and we can see what we think.

My schedule is that I have to teach Music this week from Monday through Thursday

then I am done until next year...YEAH!!!

Once I carried this flower with Fresh Feverfew to a crowded steamy lecture in

August and the fragrance made me breath easier. That is why I think it is

probably not harmful. Commonly seen on the outer sidewalk ground near the road

in this area. Also it is a deer break

Thank you Ma'am

Hi BB,

You sparked my curiosity here. I found a website that

describes something called Tagetes lucida, which

sounds like it may be your plant:

http://tinyurl.com/2p22xe

It sounds like in moderation, it is a safe and in fact

very useful herb. However, I also found websites that

claim that in high doses, it can be

psychoactive/mildly hallucinogenic.

Hopefully our own Tisserand can comment.

Cheers!

Patty
