Yes, i read a book on unassisted childbirth where the author's husband

lactated and nursed their baby. I think it was also featured on a tv show

called Extreme Animals, but i'm not sure about the tv show. They argued it

was totally natural and a good backup system for mom.

What I've read is basically that it *shows up* when the fat cells expand ...

which would fit with gaining 10 lbs. Might have to do with the type

of fat too -- saturated fat is more solid in the body.

But if the connective tissue is smooth,

the fat cells can expand and not show up as " bumps " -- and hormones *obviously*

have to do with it because guys don't get cellulite much, even fat guys.

Actually

I've noticed that people who have fat, say, on their upper arms don't get

cellulite there, which is a good argument for the difference being in the

connective tissue. But I wouldn't think the connective tissue would change

that much in a year on a good diet ... more likely the fat cells are just

plumper at the moment. Seems like when I joined this group you were

complaining you were losing weight and couldn't gain ... sheeesh

girl, make up your mind! ;-p

I don't know all the variables in connective tissue, but I'm very interested

in them because I have a mess of connective tissue problems and so do my

kids and mother. Connective tissue issues seem to be a combo of diet and

genes, and if you have connective tissue problems it causes a lot of the " Price "

kind of symptoms (besides cellulite!) -- bad eyesight, narrow palate, thin face

so there might be some kind of overlap. The one dietary connection I've

read about would be the gluten one (because that's what I've been reading

about!) but no one has seemingly done much research on FIXING connective

tissue, or whether it will change if your diet changes once it is laid down.

Seems like it might, since we have folks here that even have facial changes

as adults.

Too bad nature didn't pick the seemingly more logical mechanism of storing

fat for breastfeeding in the *breasts* huh? lol...

Interestingly a friend of mine who is slim, but is on the Pill, can't

shift her cellulite but read somewhere that the Pill can cause

cellulite - she decided to stay on the Pill and put up with the lumps

and bumps. So, it does seem it's hormone related.

breastfeeding - that's why any excess weight there is so hard to

lose. As it happens, that is also the place we get cellulite.

However, it is posible to have fat there and no cellulite, and also

possible to have very little fat and all of it cellulite! IMO the

cellulite is not there for the breastfeeding!

Many women have cellulite because they lack muscle. I have seen so

many THIN young girls that had cellulite on their legs. They simply

had no muscle to spread the fat out! Women need fat on them, but to be

" toned " they need muscle to spread it out and look attractive.

Getting rid of cellulite gennerally is losing body fat and gaining

muscle. Gaining muscle has the wonderful benefit of spreading fat out,

and also making you more firm. Lifting weights, doing interval

training, and ditching anything like spinning classes or long cardio.

Bee's candida diet can absolutely help. The coconut oil can help you

lose fat, while the low carbs helps shed off extra weight (water AND

fat). The high level of cod liver oil also helps with fat loss. If you

can't lose fat due to liver, adrenals, and intestinal health, then

this diet will help a lot. This type of diet makes it difficult to

gain a lot of muscle, but you definitely can especially if you're

pretty new to weight training.
